Blood Bank Earns
Accreditation
MGH’s Blood Bank has been granted accreditation by AABB. Accreditation follows an intensive
on-site assessment by specially trained AABB assessors and establishes that the level of
medical, technical and administrative performance within the facility meets or exceeds the
stringent standards set by AABB. Since 1958, AABB has been dedicated to advancing the field of transfusion medicine and improving
patient and donor safety. AABB accreditation is the designation of choice because it demonstrates an organization’s commitment to
advanced learning, continuous improvement and innovation by striving to sustain the highest possible level of patient and donor care.

outreach, has been chosen to
participate in the Society for
Healthcare Strategy and Market
Development (SHSMD) NextGen
Task Force. SHSMD, a personal
membership group of the
American Hospital Association,
Ann E. Vermilion, MBA,
selected Vermilion because it
administrative director
believes she is one of the “best
and brightest” emerging professionals in the areas of marketing,
communications, planning and strategy.
As SHSMD began to develop its three-year strategic plan, the
task force was designed and implemented to advise the SHSMD
board, leadership and staff on new and emerging areas of interest
and provide input on ways SHSMD could better serve young,
emerging professionals.
SHSMD is the premier organization for 4,400 healthcare professionals
responsible for strategy development and implementation
in a wide array of healthcare organizations.
The society is one of 11 personal membership groups affiliated
with the American Hospital Association, a national organization that
represents and serves close to 5,000 hospitals and their patients
and communities.
New Pediatrician
Welcomed
Marion General Hospital is pleased to welcome Hester
Suh, M.D., to its medical staff.
Suh’s undergraduate
studies were completed at
the State University of New
York at Stony Brook, where
she graduated magna cum
laude. She received her
medical education from
State University of New
York Downstate College of
Hester Suh, M.D.
Medicine, Brooklyn, and
completed her residency
at Stony Brook University Hospital in New York. Her postgraduate
training includes certifications in both pediatric
advanced life support and neonatal resuscitation.
Suh joins the talented staff and physicians at Marion
Pediatrics LLC, 1411 W. Bella Drive. She is accepting new
