4.6 Manage ourselves effectively
The Trust has always aimed to maximise the deployment of its resources to enable delivery of its conservation
objectives. Ensuring the efficient and effective running of the organisation is key to this.
We have strengthened our working with The Wildlife Trusts, both nationally and regionally, and with the Isles of Scilly
Wildlife Trust.
Over many years the Trust has developed, reviewed and modified its administrative procedures, including financial, staff
and volunteer management, governance systems and health and safety procedures. We have achieved and retained the
Investors in People standard and, when subject to external independent audit, our systems have been found to be
robust and fit for purpose.
Within this plan period we are committed to ongoing review to ensure this remains the case and will ensure we
provide sufficient resources of people, money and equipment to do so.
Within the last plan period we developed and implemented our own in-house environmental action plan which
reviewed the environmental impacts of our organisation. We still need to do more and will seek to improve our
performance in coming years.
Since April 2005, Cornwall Wildlife Trust has been
accredited as an Investors in People organisation. The
Trust believes that the staff are our greatest asset – an
opinion supported by the IiP Assessor in his latest review:

met in making the Trust a success.”

of their work colleagues. There’s also responsibility and flexible working
arrangements. For most, this combination makes for a worthwhile
