Flow Resistors (Part No. 3200265-3200271)<br />

Flow Resistors are high tolerance lengths of PEEK covered fused silica tubing that<br />

provide a known flow rate at a selected pressure. They can be used to insert additional<br />

flow resistance into a system and are designed for use with the Mitos P-Pump range.<br />

A Flow Resistor enables very low flow rates to be achieved when connecting to a Mitos<br />

P-Pump to systems of low fluidic resistance. For applications such as droplet generation,<br />

a Flow Resistor can be used to prevent flow rate instability due to the varying back<br />

pressure generated by using immiscible fluids of different viscosities. <strong>Dolomite</strong> offers a<br />

range of Flow Resistors to optimise your microfluidic system.<br />

1) Maximum flow rate is the approximate flow rate produced with water when the Mitos P-<br />

Pump is set to 10bar and there is little or no fluidic resistance downstream of the flow<br />

Flow accessories<br />

The Flow Resistors are supplied with the following flow accessories:<br />

2 x Compact Head Fittings (ETFE) with 1/4 - 28” thread for connection to 1/16”<br />

OD pipe, can be used with the Flangeless Ferules.<br />

2 x Flangeless Ferules (ETFE) for connection to 1/16” OD pipe. To be used with<br />

the Compact Head Fittings.<br />

2 x Straight Female Couplings (Polypropylene) with female to female 1/4 - 28”<br />

threads. The couplings are used for making connection between Compact Head<br />

Fittings.<br />

1 x Ferule (PCTFE) with Integrated Filter (stainless steel, 2 µm pore size). To be<br />

used with 1/16” OD pipe.<br />

Each Flow Resistor is supplied with these flow accessories to enable the Flow Resistor to<br />

be connected in-line. The included filter can be used to prevent blockage of the small<br />

internal diameter of the flow resistor.<br />

Flow resistors can also be directly connected to a microfluidic chip using the Multiflux®<br />

Linear Connectors.<br />

Each Flow Resistor is supplied with the above flow accessories<br />

to enable the Flow Resistor to be connected in-line.<br />

The Mitos P-Pump Vessel Holders Kit contains 4 vessel holders to enable the Mitos<br />

P-Pump range to be used with a wide range of standard and non-standard fluid vessels.<br />

These include centrifuge tubes, auto sampler vials, scintillation vials, microreaction vials<br />

and other general purpose vials. The Vessel Holders can be easily positioned inside the<br />

The Mitos P-Pump Remote Chamber 400 is a 10bar stainless steel pressure chamber for<br />

use with the Mitos P-Pump (Part No. 3200016). It enables greater sample volumes up to<br />

400ml to be used, so that continuous pumping for longer periods of time is possible. With<br />

the precise pressure-driven pumping mechanism of the Mitos P-Pump, the flow from the<br />

chamber is highly stable and pulsefree. The remote chamber 400 is simple to connect<br />

and provides clear viewing of the sample liquid. For applications requiring temperature<br />

control and stirring, the remote chamber can be placed onto a hotplate/magnetic stirrer.<br />

The Mitos P-Pump Remote Chamber 30 is a 0 – 10bar lockable glass pressure chamber<br />

for use with the Mitos P-Pump Remote (Part No. 3200176) and Mitos P-Pump Remote<br />

Basic (Part No. 3200177). It is easy to access and can accommodate samples from 100µl<br />

to 30ml.<br />

The Mitos P-Pump Remote Chamber 30 connects to a Mitos P-Pump Remote via a<br />

simple push-and-click action. For applications requiring temperature control and stirring,<br />

the remote chamber can be placed onto a hotplate, magnetic stirrer or placed in an<br />

Dip Tube Fitting (Part No. 3200143)<br />

Designed for use with the Mitos P-Pump (Part No. 3200016), the Dip Tube Fitting allows<br />

users to easily connect a dip tube into a fluid vessel on the Mitos P-Pump. The fitting<br />

features an in-built strain relief and is compatible with 1/16 OD tubing and 1/4- 28 flat<br />

bottom ports.<br />

The Fluid Tube (1/16”) to Pneumatic Tube (6mm) Adaptor is used to convert 6mm air<br />

lines to 1/16” fluid tube, which is the tubing size required for connection to all Mitos P-<br />

Pumps.<br />

For PCs that do not support an RS232 serial interface, <strong>Dolomite</strong> offers a RS232 Serial<br />

Extension Cable (Part No. 3200239) and a RS232 to USB Adaptor Module (Part No.<br />

3200197) allowing users to connect their Mitos P-Pump Basic (Part No. 3200175) or<br />

Mitos P-Pump Remote Basic (Part No. 3200177) to a PC.<br />
