4. Maintenance
The Wheatheart Auger has been designed and manufactured to meet the highest standards,
while requiring minimal maintenance. Following a careful service and maintenance program
will provide many years of trouble-free service.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of injury or death to persons using this equipment, follow basic
safety precautions.
WHEN PERFORMING ADJUSTMENTS, SERVICE, OR REPAIR
• Shut off and lock out the power source before working on the auger.
• Ensure service area is clean and dry.
• Ensure electrical outlets and tools are properly grounded.
• Use proper tools for the job.
• Ensure there is adequate lighting to perform the job safely.
• Wear safety gear that is appropriate for the job being performed.
• Place chocks in front and behind the wheels to prevent the machine from rolling.
• Use extra caution when cleaning and servicing augers because flighting edges can
become sharp.
• Follow proper procedures when mounting a tire on a rim. If in doubt, have a
qualified tire repair service perform the required maintenance.
• Install and secure all guards after maintenance work is completed.
CAUTION
DO NOT MODIFY THE EQUIPMENT
Unauthorized modification may impair the function or safety of the
equipment, could affect the life of the equipment, and will void your
warranty.
4.1 FLUIDS AND LUBRICANTS
4.1.1 ENGINE OIL
Refer to engine operator’s manual for recommended oil usage.
4.1.2 GEAR OIL
Use SAE approved 90W or equivalent gear oil.
