AHMC would not have had the long-term success
it has without the loyal support – monetary and
otherwise - of its community, and the patients and
families who reside in it. As an expression of
gratitude and acknowledgement of this, the
Medical Center has, each year, endeavored to
expand its offering of programs and services well
beyond the walls of the institution.
A key event for encouraging healthier lifestyles is
our triennial Health Fair, which was attended by a
record number of community members. This was
just one of the many events, programs, and
initiatives designed to foster better lifestyle habits
and improve the overall health of our community.
Other notable events and initiatives during 2008
included:
The creation of a Family Resource Center to
provide credible, reliable information to our
patients and their families
Nearly 5,000 community members attending
112 In Touch with Health programs
Partnerships with schools to reinforce healthy
living
New Visions program and CampMed to help
cultivate tomorrow's health care workforce
Ask Me 3 initiative to engage our patients and
families in our mission to provide the safest
care possible
