C.A.T. engineers follow a full system approach to design,
execute and evaluate each treatment.
After well selection C.A.T. engineers work with the cus -
tomer to determine critical well parameters to produce
an initial design. This design includes both physical properties
of the productive zone and economics of the
treatment.
A minifrac is then performed to calibrate actual well proper
ties to the initial design. This part of the treatment
opti mizes job size and proppant selection.
Using this actual well data, the frac is pumped precisely
following the design determined after the minifrac.
The whole treatment is then analysed using a pressure
history match approach to ensure the actual treatment
following the model. This ensures that the fracture geometry
actually achieved is the same as the model that
was used. This is a critical function for future fracs.
Engineers ensure that the most economical treatment is
pumping. Implementation of Net Present Value calculations
and post-frac production estimations enables to
optimize the frac design.
