Reuse of treated
wastewater
The tertiary treatment of
the wastewater on the Baix
Llobregat plant is performed by
means of the state-of-the-art
process ACTIDisc®
ACTIDisc® is a unique technology for reuse of treated
wastewater as the water quality obtained at any given
time complies with the current standards. At the same
time it is a very compact technology which is able to treat
large amounts of water on a relatively small area.
The ACTIDisc® is a state-of-the-art process developed by
Veolia for tertiary treatment of wastewater. The first phase
consists of settling by sand which is performed by means
of the Actiflo process. The second phase consists of
tertiary filtration by disc filters which is performed by
means of Hydrotech disc filters. The settling with ballasted
sand is performed in three Actiflo lines and the filtration
is performed in 10 Hydrotech disc filters with a mesh
width of 10 µm.
