TUITION & FEES CONTINUED<br />
Lack <strong>of</strong> attendance, course abandonment or cancellation<br />
<strong>of</strong> student registration due to lack <strong>of</strong> payment does not<br />
cancel a student’s financial obligation.<br />
HOUSING AND MEAL PLAN REFUNDS<br />
The housing and meal plan contract may be cancelled<br />
during its term for <strong>the</strong> following reasons:<br />
··<br />
Completion <strong>of</strong> graduation requirements<br />
··<br />
Withdrawal from <strong>the</strong> <strong>College</strong> for at least one semester<br />
··<br />
Ineligibility to continue enrollment due to failure to meet<br />
academic or o<strong>the</strong>r requirements<br />
In <strong>the</strong> event <strong>of</strong> such cancellation, <strong>the</strong> resident must properly<br />
check out <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir room within 48 hours <strong>of</strong> notifying<br />
Housing and Residence Life <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir cancellation and <strong>the</strong><br />
following refund schedule applies per semester:<br />
i. 100% refund <strong>of</strong> housing and unused meal plan funds for<br />
<strong>the</strong> resident who notifies Housing and Residence Life in<br />
writing on or before <strong>the</strong> first day <strong>of</strong> occupancy and does not<br />
move in or check in. The housing deposit is forfeited after<br />
July 31, 2012 and <strong>the</strong> meal plan balance is taken to zero.<br />
ii. 75% refund <strong>of</strong> housing and 75% unused meal plan funds<br />
for <strong>the</strong> resident who notifies Housing and Residence Life<br />
in writing on or before <strong>the</strong> first Friday after <strong>the</strong> first class day<br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> semester. The housing deposit is forfeited and <strong>the</strong><br />
meal plan balance is taken to zero on date <strong>of</strong> check out.<br />
iii. 50% refund <strong>of</strong> housing and 50% unused meal plan<br />
funds for <strong>the</strong> resident who notifies Housing and Residence<br />
Life in writing on or before <strong>the</strong> second Friday <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> semester,<br />
but after <strong>the</strong> first Friday <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> semester. The housing<br />
deposit is forfeited and <strong>the</strong> meal plan balance is taken to<br />
zero on date <strong>of</strong> check out.<br />
iv. 0% refund <strong>of</strong> housing and 0% unused meal plan funds<br />
for <strong>the</strong> resident who notifies Housing and Residence<br />
Life in writing after <strong>the</strong> second Friday <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> semester. The<br />
housing deposit is forfeited and <strong>the</strong> meal plan balance<br />
is taken to zero on date <strong>of</strong> check out.<br />
WITHDRAWAL AND RECALCULATION<br />
OF FINANCIAL AID<br />
Federal financial aid recipients who withdraw from <strong>Cornish</strong><br />
during <strong>the</strong> first nine weeks (or 60 percent) <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> semester<br />
will have <strong>the</strong>ir financial aid recalculated according to<br />
federal guidelines. Depending on <strong>the</strong> outcome <strong>of</strong> a recalculation,<br />
students may owe all or a portion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir federal<br />
loans (to be paid back to <strong>the</strong>ir lending institution) and/or all<br />
or a portion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> tuition and fees for which <strong>the</strong>y were<br />
originally billed.<br />

CORNISH LIBRARY<br />
The library staff will be an essential resource during your<br />
undergraduate education at <strong>Cornish</strong>. Beyond answering<br />
reference questions, <strong>Cornish</strong> Librarians provide information<br />
literacy instruction tailored to <strong>the</strong> visual and performing<br />
arts disciplines. Through <strong>the</strong>se workshops Librarians help<br />
students develop key research skills necessary to achieve<br />
<strong>the</strong>ir creative and academic goals. All incoming freshmen<br />
receive an overview <strong>of</strong> library services and an introduction<br />
to academic research and writing during <strong>the</strong> first year Integrated<br />
Studies classes. Librarians are available to help<br />
students with <strong>the</strong>ir assignments, research and general<br />
questions. Additionally, <strong>the</strong> Curator <strong>of</strong> Visual Resources<br />
is available for assistance with visual presentations and<br />
media. The <strong>Cornish</strong> Library is located on <strong>the</strong> 2nd floor in<br />
<strong>the</strong> Main Campus Center. The 25,000-volume book collection<br />
focuses on <strong>the</strong> fine and performing arts, and covers<br />
humanities and sciences topics related to <strong>the</strong> curriculum.<br />
The collection also includes 140 periodical subscriptions,<br />
3,000 videos, 5,000 music scores, and 5,800 sound recordings.<br />
The library’s Image Collection provides access to<br />
an extensive online digital image repository and also houses<br />
45,000 slides covering art, design, architecture and select<br />
images <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> performing arts.<br />
In addition to <strong>the</strong> on-site library collection, <strong>Cornish</strong> students<br />
have access to online databases that allow searching for<br />
