A Generous Gift, With Huge Impact
In 2010 the United Way was a recipient of a very generous
bequest from the estate of Mr. Edwin Harper. Mr. Harper was
born on the family farm located in Camborne. He grew up working
and loving the land and the community that surrounded it.
He worked the land until his early fifties when he retired from
farming and began spending his winters in Florida. Mr. Harper,
although enjoying his winter vacations, always looked forward
to returning back to Canada and the community in which he was born.
He passed away in 2007. In his Will he left a legacy to the community by generously
donating over $123,000 to the United Way. These funds will be utilized
to support health and social services in Northumberland County. Have
you ever thought about taking action today to ensure the well being of others
tomorrow? Making a gift to Northumberland United Way in your Will allows
you to make a lasting commitment to your community and has the potential to
impact others for years to come.
