Timely claim
• Survivors must give written notice to
the employee’s supervisor within 30
days of the date of death.
• The timely filing of a disability claim,
however, will satisfy the time
requirements for a death claim based
on the same injury as long as the
disability claim was filed during the
employee's lifetime.
