Anniversary Celebrations at Worldhotels
in Taiwan, Beijing and Seoul
(Shanghai, 18 May 2012) – Independent Worldhotels in Beijing, Taipei and Seoul are
celebrating milestone anniversaries with special promotions and events.
For the Golden Jubilee, The Ambassador Hotel Group in Taiwan is celebrating its 50 years
of history with art and environmental awareness events in Taipei, Hsinchu and Kaohsiung.
The Ambassador Hotel Group is keeping up with the latest trends in street art,
commissioning Guangzhou-based Chinese 3D street painting artists the Wan Brothers - Wan
Yiju and Wan Yiheng to create Taiwan’s largest 3D street painting.
The stunning artwork titled “3D Future City, a Journey of Illusion” is now on display outside
the Ambassador Hotel Hsinchu. Amazed passers-by can physically step onto the painting
and experience the virtual 3D effect that seems to catapult people through time and space
into the future, suspended like clouds in the sky of a futuristic city.
The Ambassador Hotel Group is also holding a variety of events with themes of music,
gourmet and environmental protection in the hotels.
Jianguo Hotel Beijing is meanwhile celebrating its 30 th anniversary as China’s first joint-
venture international hotel in the Chinese capital. Adjacent to the diplomatic quarter, it has
been acclaimed as a “model on the successful use of foreign capital”.
The four-star garden hotel in the heart of Beijing's Central Business District welcomes over
150,000 guests a year, 85 per cent of them foreigners, according to Deng Yuanming, the
hotel's general manager.
It has also hosted more than 100 visiting heads of state and senior officials including King
Norodom Sihanouk of Cambodia, former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, US
President Jimmy Carter and Australian Prime Minister Bob Hawke.

The hotel has additionally collected more than 30 national and international awards, including
the Capital Tourism Forbidden City Cup, the highest prize in Beijing's tourism and hotel
industry.
With the Jianguo Hotel Beijing as a flagship, the Beijing Tourism Group-Jianguo Hotel
Management Co now runs almost 100 high-star hotels nationwide under its own Chinese
hotel brand. Duan Qiang, BTG chairman, recently proposed a new concept of "Chinese
service" that combines world-class standards with Chinese cultural elements in the hotel.
Elegant designer business hotel Seoul Palace Hotel is also celebrating its 30th anniversary
in the South Korean capital.
The very first hotel to open in Seoul’s southern district of Gangnam has marked the
milestone with a facelift of major refurbishment and upgrade over the past two years.
The KRW 300 billion investment has included expansion and restoration from the Lobby and
270 guest rooms and suites to all four restaurants, the cosmopolitan bar and banquet and
function rooms.
Following refurbishments, Seoul Palace Hotel is now officially an upper class five star
property. It was also honoured with the “2011 Prime Minister Design Grand Prize Award” for
design led by celebrated architect Choi Shi Young.
The new look reinterprets classic Korean housing style in guest rooms, while photo art by
renowned Korean photographer Kim Joong Man complements the vibrant modern design.
“All three of these iconic Worldhotels have a rich history and heritage and we congratulate
them on reaching such significant milestones,” said Worldhotels Vice President Asia-Pacific,
Roland Jegge.
