The Directorate Career<br />

Management (DCM) for<br />

Public Service Act Personnel<br />

(PSAP) is responsible for rendering<br />

a career development<br />

service to all employees in<br />

the DOD. DCM (PSAP) manages<br />

a Career Resources Centre with<br />

various electronic and non-electronic<br />

resources that could assist employees<br />

to plan and develop their careers. One<br />

such resource is the EYE Read<br />

Programme.<br />

WHAT IS THE EYE READ<br />

PROGRAMME ABOUT?<br />

The ability to read is the key to<br />

intellectual development and success.<br />

Therefore with the EYE Read<br />

Programme you will not only cope<br />

better with the information explosion,<br />

but you will also grow and develop.<br />

It is a programme suitably<br />

designed for use by adults, teenagers<br />

and children from the age <strong>of</strong> nine. The<br />

programme contains a series <strong>of</strong> eye<br />

exercises that are intended to dramatically<br />

improve your reading speed.<br />

OBJECTIVES<br />

To increase study performance.<br />

To improve concentration,<br />

understanding and recall.<br />

To increase self-confidence in your<br />

ability to read and study.<br />

To maximise the brain's potential.<br />

TARGET GROUP<br />

Every DOD <strong>of</strong>ficial is encouraged<br />

to use the programme. An appeal is<br />

made to all readers <strong>of</strong> this article to<br />

convey this message to others.<br />
