The Poka Yoke (Mistake Proofing) Training
Programme aims to prepare workers to meet the
demands of the changing manufacturing landscape.
Mistake Proofing, also known as Poka Yoke, was
developed by Japanese manufacturing engineer
Shigeo Shingo, to achieve Zero Quality Control
(ZQC). As one of the main components of ZQC,
mistake proofing is used to detect or prevent defects
from happening in the first place.
This two-day course takes a practical hands-on
approach to systematically implement an error
proofing system. Participants will learn how and why
the system works, as well as how error proofing can
achieve ZQC.

• Process Mapping
• FMEA Analysis
• Root Cause Analysis
• Develop Mistake Proofing Solutions
• Verify and Implement Mistake Proofing Solutions
• Develop Control Plan
This course is also available in Mandarin.
PROGRAMME DELIVERY
Poka Yoke (Mistake Proofing) Training
Programme consists of 2 units for full
certification. This course will take 2 days to
complete, totalling 14 training hours for the
entire programme.
CERTIFICATION
Upon completion of this course, a Certificate
of Attendance will be issued by SMF Centre
for Corporate Learning.

• Must be either Singapore Citizens or
Singapore Permanent Residents
• Currently employed
