Jesus Himself saying in Luke 9:62, that
we must make a clean decisive break in
order to follow Him: “No man, having
put his hand to the plough, and looking
back, is fit for the kingdom of God,”
and in Philippians 3:13–14, the Apostle
Paul said,
this one thing I do, forgetting those
things which are behind, and
reaching forth unto those things
which are before, I press toward
the mark for the prize of the high
calling of God in Christ Jesus.
There are so many portions of Scripture that make it clear to us that
when we follow Christ we have to serve Him wholeheartedly, and
single-mindedly. And like Peter, James and John, you may be one that
Christ is calling now to serve Him fully, saying, “From henceforth thou
shalt catch men. Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Will
you respond by doing what the disciples did? Will you also forsake all
and follow Christ?
