Jewelry Information Center Announces Trade Press Editor of the Year
New York, NY – Victoria Gomelsky, editor of Couture International Jeweler was honored by Jewelry
Information Center (“JIC”) as this year’s winner of the JIC Trade Press Editor of the Year. The
presentation was made at JIC’s fourth annual lunch in honor of jewelry and watch press editors at Le
Madeleine, in Manhattan. The event was held on July 31, during the JA New York Summer Show.
Publishers and editors of the trade joined JIC board chair Myriam Gumuchian and JIC staff for the
event.
Gomelsky is editor of Couture International Jeweler and a freelance writer for many other publications.
Her work has been published in publications including: New York Times, International Herald Tribune,
Philadelphia Inquirer, Hollywood Reporter and an anthology published by Seal Press called “The Sun
and Waking Up America: Coming of Age Biculturally.” “Victoria’s work in the trade has brought her to
over 20 countries to cover every jewelry topic imaginable. She is a woman wise beyond her years, rich
with life experience who brings an edgy and thoughtful viewpoint to our industry. We are lucky to have
her,” Gumuchian said.
Jewelry Information Center inaugurated its Trade Press Luncheon in 2004 to acknowledge the support
that the association receives from the industry press. Previous recipients of JIC’s Trade Press Editor of
the Year award are Hedda Schupak, editor in chief of Jewelers-Circular Keystone, Peggy Jo Donoghue,
formerly editor in chief of Professional Jeweler and Paul Holewa, editor of InStore.

Jewelry Information Center (JIC) is the public relations arm of the fine jewelry and watch industries. Founded as a non-profit
trade association in 1946, the New York City based JIC is funded by its members (manufacturers, designers, and retailers of
fine jewelry and watches as well as other trade associations and industry professional) and is considered to be the objective
authority on fine jewelry and watches. Since its inception, the JIC has provided consumers with information about fine
jewelry including: savvy shopping tips, care and cleaning information, jewelry history, and fashion trends through its work with
the print and broadcast media. The JIC also produces seasonal trend reports and fashion tips for consumers and the media.
