She succeeds John Green of Lux, Bondand Green who served as JIC chair from 2003-2006. Gumuchian is the first woman to be electedto head up the JIC Board in the organization’s 60-year history.“I am honored to be elected chair of <strong>Jewelry</strong> <strong>Information</strong> <strong>Center</strong> and I commend John Green forhis devoted service the past three years in helping to raise the awareness of JIC within the trade,”Gumuchian said. “We have a fantastic board, and I am excited about working with them as chairto continue pushing JIC to make it a industry organization that everyone is proud to be part of.”In addition to Gumuchian, JIC elected the following new officers for the coming year: MatthewRunci of Jewelers of America, vice chair; Lowell Kwiat of Kwiat, Inc, secretary; Ross Markmanof Suberi Brothers, Inc., treasurer. GoodmanMfg.; Steven Davolt, Ben Bridge Jeweler; Terri Eagle, John Hardy; Jim Kerwin, KerwinCommunications; Kathryn Kimmel, Gemological Institute of America; Andrew Kohler, A.B.Kohler & Co.; Daniel Lalonde, LVMH Watch & <strong>Jewelry</strong> Group; Brian Mann, David MannJewelers; Michael O’Connor, Platinum Guild International; Rachel Rosin; Matthew Runci,Jewelers of America; Mark Sanders, Sissy’s Log Cabin; Steven Shonebarger, Bulgari Corp. ofAmerica; Koichi Takahashi, Takahashi Associates; Michael White, White’s JewelersJIC directors serve two-year terms and assist the organization in building the image of finejewelry and watches to the consumer.
