Providence High School
YOU BELONG HERE.
Message From Our
Head of School
Dear Friends of Providence High School,
As 2012 is coming to an end, I have been taking the
time to look back at all of the terrific things that are
happening here at Providence High School. Those of us
who are on campus everyday sometimes take for granted
the success of our students, faculty and programs, but
people from outside our school constantly remind me
about all that is good at Providence High School.
Whenever I host visitors on campus, they immediately
understand why we all know that YOU BELONG
HERE. In the fall, I hosted almost 20 principals and
teachers from local feeder schools for tours of our classes
and lunch. Each of these educators was impressed with
the quality of our teaching and programs, and they
were amazed about the respect and love shown by our
students towards each other and to their school.
There have been so many successes already this
school year. We were so very blessed to finally open
our new Science Center. This state of the art facility
is being used in amazing ways by our students and
faculty. I love visiting science classes and watching
all of the innovation going on! Our fall drama, Terminal
Café, was a challenging work that pushed our actors
to their limits and led to many thought-provoking
discussions on campus. Our girls’ volleyball teams and
our cross country teams all competed hard in the fall.
Congratulations to our varsity volleyball team and girls’
cross country team for making it to playoffs, and also to
sophomore Lalo Fisher for making it to the individual
boys’ cross country playoffs. A special congratulations
goes out to our girls’ JV volleyball team for finishing
17-1 overall and undefeated league champs!
Our various choirs have been performing at many
Providence Health & Services events as well as other
public events. The audiences are always so appreciative
of their talents. Again, I sometimes take our wonderful
choirs for granted because I get to hear them rehearse
every day. It’s nice to be in an audience with those
who don’t get to hear them every day! In December,
we honored all of our “techies” on campus during our
traditional week affectionately known as “Nerd Week.”
These “nerds” will be the next Bill Gates or Steve Jobs
soon…thank goodness we knew them when they were
Providence Pioneers!
In this issue of Pioneer Connections you will read about
many of our other accomplishments. There is a lot to
be proud of at PHS. I appreciate your support of the
Providence Fund and the Family Pledge Program.
Without your continued generosity, we would not be
able to sustain this impressive momentum.
Yours in Providence,
PHS Celebrates Grand Opening of
New Science Center
After years of dreaming, praying, planning, and
fundraising, the new science center at Providence
High School opened its doors to students eager to learn
in the state-of-the-art classrooms and faculty members
equally as eager to instruct using new equipment.
The grand opening of the new science center took place
on Monday, August 20, 2012, which coincided with the
first day of the 2012-2013 school year.
“The new science center is essential in keeping our
science curriculum progressive and competitive. It will
benefit the entire Providence community,” commented
Mr. Joe Sciuto, PHS Head of School.
Providence High School broke ground on the science
center on December 16, 2011. The new facility consists
of three state-of-the-art classroom/lab combinations
used for biology, chemistry, and physics classes.
Mr. Joe Ngamsanga, Biology and Environmental Science
teacher, recalls attending seminars at other schools
that had more modern biology labs and couldn’t help
but compare these rooms to his own classroom lab,
the room he has taught in for the past 16 years and that
once housed a Home Economics class.
Pioneer Connections 4
Sophomores in Mr. Joe Ngamsanga’s biology class hard
at work.
Bishop Gerald Wilkerson blessed the new science center
at the ribbon cutting ceremony.
“My composure remains humble, but my heart has
been elated with pride and joy [because] my students
will now have an opportunity to fully have hands-on
experiences upon biological experiments in a state-ofthe
–art facility,” remarked Mr. Joe Ngamsanga.
New to PHS this year, Ms. Rebecca Poliner has the
good fortune of teaching chemistry in one of the new
classroom labs.
“My new classroom provides me with the opportunity
to simultaneously use smart board technology in my
teaching while having students work collaboratively
in the lab,” Ms. Poliner stated.
At the ribbon cutting event, Bishop Gerald Wilkerson
blessed the new facility and Associated Student
Body President, Caitlin Markey ‘13 joined former
PHS Principal, Sr. Lucille Dean, SP, former PHS Vice
Principal, Sr. Mary Hawkins, SP, and former PHS
Principal, Sr. Rebecca Berghoff, SP in cutting the
ribbon to celebrate the opening of the building.
The choir performed at the ceremony in the Student
Activity Center while a slide show played in the
background, showing photos of the science center’s
progression.
“I hope that current students and future generations to
come will enjoy learning in the new science center as
much as I enjoy teaching in it,” Mr. Ngamsanga fondly
said.
PHS Mourns the Loss of a Beloved Teacher
The Providence High School community mourns the
loss of Mrs. Eleonora Greenhill, a beloved teacher
at PHS for 42 years, who passed away on October 12,
2012.
Mrs. Greenhill began her tenure at Providence High
School in 1966, however PHS was not her first teaching
experience. Prior to her arrival at PHS, Mrs. Greenhill
was a teacher at St. Charles Borromeo Elementary
School where she taught many of Providence’s alumnae
before they were Pioneers.
Fluent in seven languages, in her early years at
Providence, Mrs. Greenhill taught foreign languages
such as Russian, German, Italian, and French. As if
that weren’t impressive enough, she also was a part of
the math department for a number of years teaching
Algebra, Algebra II/Trigonometry, and Geometry.
Known for her keen fashion sense, Mrs. Greenhill truly
knew how to carry herself with great poise and could
often be found dressed to the nines in fashionable
flowing skirts complemented by white cowboy boots
and a colorful shirt, and she always wore jewelry that
jingled as she walked. In fact, there was never a question
about where she could be found…all anyone ever had to
do was listen for the jingling of her bracelets!
Throughout her years at Providence, Mrs. Greenhill
touched numerous students’ lives, and she will surely
be missed.
A scholarship has been established in honor
of Mrs. Greenhill. For more information about it,
please contact Mrs. Vickie Bagwell at
In Loving Memory of Mrs. Eleonora Greenhill
By Marisa Paolone ‘96
According
to Joseph
Addison, no one
is more cherished
in this world than
someone who
lightens the burden
of another.
I have asked myself
for years how to
properly thank a
teacher for their
support, especially
during something
difficult. Are there any words that suffice?
Though Eleonora Greenhill was my math teacher, it was
her talent and persistence that impacted and enhanced
my life. As is the case with so many students, Math was
my cross to bear through junior high. Looking back,
I realize that no one had been able to teach me math
concepts as well as Eleonora Greenhill.
Though Mrs. Greenhill loved teaching, she is the
first math instructor I encountered who was a true
math teacher. She loved her subject and wanted her
students to love it too. Whether it was Algebra I or
II, she didn’t want her students to learn for the sake
of learning it. Rather, she rationalized concepts, was
adamant in her repetition and related each step to life;
it always made sense and I loved it. Her persistence,
patience and humor were all around conducive to my
learning. For the first time in my life, math was not
only fun, it was easy.
In saying how Eleonora Greenhill was unsurpassed in
her teaching strategies, I find simplicity is best; I will
always hold her in highest esteem. I will never forget
her for taking a great difficulty in my life and making it
disappear. My first few years teaching at Providence, I
had the pleasure of being a colleague; she even taught in
my classroom during my prep period. I loved listening
to her, as her humor, tone and approach to teaching
hadn’t changed.
As for Mrs. Greenhill’s legacy, I know it still lives on
at Providence. The great math teaching tactics I have
developed, I learned from her. When graduates come
for a visit and tell me that in college, they recall ways I
taught them how to solve math problems and how easy
it is for them, I can only smile. No matter the student,
I always remind them that before they thanked me,
they had to thank Mrs. Greenhill. Years ago, if anyone
would have told me that in college I’d have pursued a
math minor, I would have laughed.
For many of us, Eleonora Greenhill is remembered
fondly here on campus as the woman whose gold
bracelets jingled down the hallway and whose smile
brightened the room. I see her as a Pioneer, and not
just in the Providence sense. She was original and
unique—a true one of a kind. She was tough when she
needed to be and unyielding in her vision of getting
students to understand and love math as she did.
Eleonora: I know you are at peace and have much
deserved rest. I know God will continue to bless and
keep you, as you did me.
Marisa Paolone, a PHS graduate from the class of 1996,
teaches English I Honors, English II, and English III. She is
the senior class moderator and member of the Kairos adult
team. Ms. Paolone has also taught Algebra I and Algebra
II at PHS.
Senior Caitlin Markey Recognized as a
“Champion for Character”
This past October, Caitlin Markey ‘13 was honored
at the 9 th Annual CIF Jim Staunton Champions for
Character Award Ceremony. Each year, awards are
presented to student athletes, coaches, administrators,
and schools that exemplify good sportsmanship and
pursue “victory with honor.” Last year, PHS was the
recipient of two of these awards – one to former Vice
Principal Mr. Vic LeBreton, and one to the school as
a whole for being a Champion for Character School.
This year, Caitlin was one of 14 students recognized.
PHS Athletic Director, Andrew Bencze, nominated
Markey for the award. “Caitlin represents our school
very well,” Bencze said. “She handles herself with class
and dignity.”
As a member of the girls’ soccer team, Caitlin
experienced a great season during her sophomore year,
Pioneer Connections 8
however her junior season was more challenging due to
the loss of nine veteran players who had graduated. Not
one to let that excuse working hard, Caitlin stepped up
and lead the team through a difficult season.
“It’s easy when things are going well,” said Bencze, “but
Caitlin shined last year as a junior when times were
tough.”
A leader not only on the athletic field, Caitlin is the
current ASB President. “Balancing academics and
athletics with ASB is definitely a challenge, but it
is totally worth it,” said Markey. “You just have to
manage your time properly.”
The Providence High School community is proud of
Caitlin’s recognition as a Champion for Character.

A Spotlight on the Technology Focus Program
Whether programming robots, designing fractal
art, or learning the ins and outs of circuit
boards, Tech Focus students are putting the skills they
learn in the classroom into practice.
Established in 2011, the Technology Focus Program
affords students interested in robotics and computers
classes which develop a skill set essential in today’s
technology-driven world.
Within the next two years, Dean of Studies Claire
Hickey says Tech Focus students will have access to
exclusive classes, much like students in the Medical
and Media Focus programs have on campus. “Our hope
is to foster cross-program collaboration between the
three Focus programs,” Mrs. Hickey explained.
The program is rapidly expanding; fifty students are
currently enrolled and with more class options, students
will have the chance to explore multiple avenues under
the program’s umbrella. With future course offerings
including Social Networking and Marketing, AP
Computer Science, as well as an Entrepreneurship
class, students will have distinct advantages in the job
market after high school.
“I’m excited for the new courses, especially AP Computer
Science,” sophomore Noah Breakman admitted. These
classes are a major draw for students interested in
exploring a career in information technology.
“I like the variety of my current classes,” fellow
sophomore Justin Marquez said. “I plan on majoring in
Computer Science in college, so I’m definitely signing
up for the AP class,” he added.
Mrs. Susan Beckenham, the Tech Focus director and
Information Science chair, knows the possibilities
for this program are endless, and her confidence in
the program shows in her work. During National
Computer Science Week in December, the Robotics
By Benjamin Jury ‘13
Seniors Adrian Martin and Robert Tolentino
tweek small light up Christmas tree circuit
boards during robotics class.
program entertains students with fun trivia and events
at lunch, affectionately called ‘NERD Week.’
“It’s a great chance for students to embrace their inner
nerd,” Mrs. Beckenham joked. “I hope the Tech Focus
program allows students to grow, possibly by inspiring
them to pursue a career in technology,” she added.
The Robotics program has been extremely successful
in its own right; students have created robots and
competed in regional tournaments, including ‘Bot Ball’
and received the judge’s award at past competitions.
Some students join for fun, while others have a great
passion for their work: Senior Adrian Martin joined
Robotics to “unravel the history, mechanics and
programming of different types of robots.”
These motivated students are already reaping the
benefits of a program which is just beginning to
blossom, and future students will see a program that
fosters success in the ever expanding technological
world we live in.
Faculty & Staff Spotlight:
Celebrating Personal & Spiritual Growth
The Providence High School community has
been described by many as that of a family-like
atmosphere. With the educational welfare of our
students as our main priority, PHS has also taken
pride in the professional, personal, and spiritual
growth of those on and off campus, including the
faculty and staff members and alumni. Whether it’s
celebrating marriages, births, advanced scholastic
degrees, or spiritual fulfillment, PHS does a fantastic
job of honoring and encouraging achievements and
milestones.
LProvidence Associates Program Gains New Member
ongtime faculty member Ms. Linda Wyatt was
inducted as a Providence Associate on November
4, 2012. Providence Associates are lay women and
men who desire to share the mission and spirituality
of Providence. They recognize themselves as drawn by
the same spirit and charism as the Sisters of Providence.
“My association with the Sisters of Providence began
back in the fall of 1974 when I started teaching at
Providence,” Ms. Wyatt recalled. “I believed in the
core values of the Sisters of Providence as well as their
holistic philosophy of education.”
Providence Associates: Lorraine Faiola, Michelle
Trujillo, Linda Wyatt, Judy Egan Umeck ‘75, and
Irene Mullen.
38 years, it’s been a pleasure to work with them, travel
with them, celebrate their Jubilees, and simply be with
them,” said Wyatt.
Ms. Wyatt was introduced to the Providence
Associates Program a few years back by Mrs. Judy Egan
Umeck ‘75, Director of Admissions (who was a student
at PHS when Wyatt began her tenure!), and Mrs. Irene
Mullen, former Director of Finance - both of whom are
Providence Associates.
“It seemed natural to me to take this next step in order
to deepen my relationship with the Sisters, and to grow
in my spirituality and service to others,” said Wyatt.
Raised in the Presbyterian church, Wyatt credits
her friendship with then faculty members Sr. Mary
Hawkins, SP, and Sr. Susanne Hartung, SP with making
her feel a deeper sense of God’s love for her.
“I admired the sisters’ commitment to Christ and their
service to others,” Wyatt recalled. “I was excited that
the spirit within me was being allowed to deepen and
grow.”
Feeling at home at PHS, she experienced a change in
her relationship with God and others, and on July 16,
1978, Wyatt converted to Catholicism.
“My life has been enriched and blessed because of my
friendship with the Sisters of Providence. Over the last
Attending the induction ceremony on behalf of PHS
were Mrs. Irene Mullen; Mrs. Judy Egan Umeck
Joanie Fenstermaker; and Sr. Joeline Santiago, SSS.
Also in attendance were PHS alumnae and Sisters of
Providence Sr. Teresa White ‘62 and Sr. Mary Alice
Today, there are more than 1,000 Providence Associates
worldwide – about equal to the number of Sisters of
Providence. There are 285 members in the Mother
PHS Faculty Member Puts Her
“Faith in Practice” During Mission Trip
PHS faculty member and alumna, Ms. Michelle
Boucher ‘95 traveled to Reu, Guatemala with
members of the Providence Health Ministries,
including surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists,
to document a week-long medical mission from
September 28-October 6, 2012. The purpose of the
mission was to perform general surgeries for people in
the surrounding area who likely wouldn’t be able to
afford these procedures.
“I was fortunate enough to serve as the team’s
photojournalist as part of a group of very talented
individuals from the Providence community,” remarked
Ms. Boucher.
Established in 1994 as a non-profit organization, the
mission of Faith In Practice is to improve the physical,
spiritual, and economic conditions of the poor in
Guatemala through short-term surgical, medical and
dental mission trips and health-related educational
programs.
“I was actually called into surgery to take pictures
of a patient’s liver in order to show the family why
the doctors were not able to perform a gallbladder
surgery,” recalled Boucher. “That was unique because
the machinery they had at the hospital was not able to
capture images for the patient’s records. Seeing how
resourceful the medical staff had to be in working with
such different conditions than we see in the States was
an eye-opening experience.”
PHS Alumnae Celebrate Jubilee
On September 15, 2012, PHS alumnae from the
class of 1961, Sr. Barbara Schamber, SP, and Sr.
Mary Alice Miller, SP were among the women being
honored as they celebrated 50 years of service as Sisters
of Providence.
Family and friends came from across the globe including
Southern California to witness the festivities. Mr.
Joe Sciuto, Mrs. Judy Egan Umeck ’75, and Ms. Linda
Wyatt, members of the high school community, were
honored to attend.
Mr. Sciuto commented on the richness of diversity
in the Mass celebration: “It magnifies the global
presence the Sisters of Providence have spanning four
continents.”
We are honored to be a part of their minstry!
New Academic Block Schedule for the
2013-2014 School Year!
About three years ago, a committee of faculty and
staff members was put together to assess the
Providence High School daily academic schedule. It
was decided that a new academic schedule would be
better for our students and faculty. Last year, another
faculty and staff committee had the task of exploring
new schedule possibilities. After many meetings, and
after evaluating many different types of schedules, the
committee proposed two different schedules to the
community. We received input and opinions from the
student body, the parent body, and the faculty and
staff. By an overwhelming margin, the Block Schedule
was deemed most popular.
The basic premise of a Block Schedule is that the
individual class periods meet for longer periods of time
over less days of a two week period. The PHS block
schedule for 2013-2014 will consist of 85 minute class
periods which will meet 5 times over a 10 day (two
week) period. The Block Schedule format affords a
better chance for deeper immersion into each subject.
Many schools in Los Angeles and across the country
are on a Block Schedule. There are many benefits to a
Block Schedule. Students have fewer classes to prepare
for (homework) each day since the most classes they
will have on any day will be four. A Block Schedule
creates a more relaxed atmosphere throughout the
school day…less movement between classes and less
frenetic schedule. The flow of the day is more natural
and less hurried. Studies have shown that the stress
level of students is lower in a Block Schedule. Also,
a Block Schedule is much more similar to a college/
university academic schedule.
We are looking forward to moving into a Block Schedule
next school year. The faculty has been receiving
training, reading books, and visiting colleagues and
classes at other schools which have a Block Schedule.
This faculty training will continue for the rest of this
school year and beyond.
Technology Upgrades
s a standard practice to keep up with the fast
pace of technology, we continually upgrade our
campus technology annually but with the addition of
the new science center to the Providence High School
campus, we seized the opportunity to greatly enhance
technology across the campus.
The new Biology, Chemistry, and Physics labs were
each equipped with Epson Interactive wall mounted
projectors that have been interconnected with HP
touchscreen computers to provide an enhanced
interactive environment. This prompted us to go all out
and implement a campus wide WiFi solution offering
network and internet connectivity serving students,
faculty, staff, and members of the Providence High
School community. “The Portal” which allows access
to virtualPROVIDENCEHIGH was upgraded from
Microsoft SharePoint 2007 to Microsoft SharePoint
2010 to provide enhancements to faculty class websites
which host important homework assignments,
lectures, and syllabi.
We replaced our entire phone system and upgraded
our phone messaging system which will be geared
toward general campus notifications, as well as
emergency notifications. Two new servers were
brought online to host nine new virtual servers with
the capacity for additional servers, this enabled us to
add more resources but cut down on cost on purchase
and overall lifecycle. Our Yearbook and English
computer labs were upgraded with a total of forty-five
new computers. Classrooms have received computer
replacements with thin client computers to cut down
on costs. Network enhancements such as new network
switches and fiber optics have also been implemented
to increase bandwidth and network uptime.
Los Angeles Junior Chamber Welcomes
Coach Baskerville to its Board of Directors
The Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce
Board of Directors voted to make PHS boys’ varsity
basketball coach Ernest Baskerville its newest member.
The 38-year old Baskerville grew up in the Koreatown
neighborhood of Los Angeles and was first introduced
to the LA Junior Chamber through the LA Watts
Games. He is a Case Manager at the Cochran Firm
and the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Providence
High School in Burbank. Baskerville also served as the
Boys Basketball Chair for the 2012 LA Watts Summer
Games Steering Committee.
“Ernest is charismatic, energetic, committed to success
and to helping those around him succeed,” said LA
Junior Chamber Board Chair, Traci Torok. “He is a
proven leader whose wealth of personal connections
helped make the 2012 LA Watts Summer Games a huge
success. His talent for building networks of people and
motivating others to serve their community will serve
the Board of Directors very well.”
As a Case Manager for the Cochran Firm, Baskerville
is responsible for client relations and manages a team
of people charged with providing top notch customer
care. He also manages the information flow of each
case beginning with initial contact until the case
reaches a senior attorney. Baskerville also manages
community relations between the firm and community
organizations, political contacts, religious groups and
area school districts.
He holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Social Science from
Thomas Edison State College. As a high school
basketball coach, Baskerville has led his teams to
multiple championships and has earned Coach of the
Year honors five different times.
“His competitive fire combined with his dedication to
community service and civic engagement will make
Ernest a tremendous asset to the Board of Directors,"
said LA Junior Chamber President and CEO Helen
Han. “He will make an immediate impact on the LA
Junior Chamber and we are looking forward to his
contributions as a newly appointed board member.”
Girls’ Junior Varsity Volleyball Team
Makes History
The girls’ junior varsity volleyball team had an
exceptional season, with a record of 17-1 overall,
making them undefeated Liberty League Champions
with a record of 12-0. This marks a first for the junior
varsity volleyball program
The girls were coached by Ms. Karri Kirsch and assisted
by Ms. Kimberlee Kirsch. This particular season had a
tight-knit group of girls that really bonded together.
“Being together as a team and family was what mattered
most to them,” continued Kirsch. “I just found that
really touching because these girls truly bonded.”
Congratulations to the girls’ junior varsity volleyball
team for their historic season!
“After our last game, which was our best game of the
season, I brought the team into the room to talk to
them,” recalls Coach Kirsch. “I thought I would find
screaming girls who were excited but I was met with
silence and I finally figured out they were sad the
season was over and that they were not going to see
each other every day as a team.”
Preview of Girls’ Varsity Basketball Season
The girls’ varsity basketball team is coming off the
most successful season in team history. The girls
finished 27-6, and 10-0 in the Liberty League, capturing
their 3 rd straight Championship. In the playoffs the
team advanced to CIF Semi-Finals and to the State
Regional Semi-Finals for the first time.
The 2012-2013 season looks just as promising. The
Pioneers return 6 of their top 7 players, including Senior
Bea Benedicto, last year’s Liberty League co-player of
the year and All CIF selection. Bea, along with her 3
senior teammates, Janel Adraneda, Estelle Glorioso
and Nicole Mungues look to capture their 4th straight
Liberty League title. Sophomore Katia Dabbaghian
returns to run the point after an All Liberty League and
All CIF season last year.
The squad is competing in the Burroughs Tournament
this year and will travel to San Diego after winning the
Tri-City Christian tournament last year.
Preview of Boys’ Varsity Basketball Season
This year will be a challenge. It appears we have the
most difficult schedule in school history. The boys’
varsity squad returns three starters from last season’s
26-6 team including Marcus Lovett, Jr., Jon Ly, and
Christian Ware-Berry. There are a few new additions
to the squad to keep an eye on: DJ Cabrera, a sophomore
transfer from Eagle Rock High School, will be a huge
factor in our rebound and post defense department.
Two of the three freshmen on varsity, Brian Cabagnot,
and Harrison Pyros, will see major minutes and will
alternate starting roles. Unfortunately Junior transfer
Kyle Lipton will be out for the most of the season due
to an injury and he will greatly be missed.
Once again, the drama department worked hard to
put on a successful fall production of Terminal Cafe
by John Tuttle. The play revolves around a cafe in
the small town of San Gabriel, New Mexico where
the locals hang out and complain about their lives,
the food, and each other, all the while dreaming of a
better life.
Ms. Kerry Martin’s American Literature class
researched historical background on Arthur Miller’s
landmark play, The Crucible. Each group of students
took on different roles as “tour guides”: the town
historian, medic, lawyer, or an accused witch. Then
they took their classmates on “tours” of 1692 Salem,
Massachusetts, creatively relaying the information
they gathered from their research. Here, Jeannica
Tan ‘14 is dressed as character Sarah Good.
Students from Ms. Terry Piumetti’s and Ms. Tanya
for her excellent performance as a prosecuting attorney.
In the second round, the award went to junior Maryanne
Amour for her outstanding work as a defense attorney.
Having won their first two rounds, PHS was one
of only 20 teams that remained and advanced to
a playoff round at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in
downtown Los Angeles.
This year’s Mock Trial team joined 84 high schools
from throughout Los Angeles county, competing
in the Constitutional Rights Foundation’s Mock
Trial competition. All schools involved argued as
prosecution and defense (depending upon their
assignment for each round) against other schools,
all of which were conducting the same case.
In the first round, freshman Emily Velandia was
awarded Most Valuable Player by the other team
Unfortunately, that was the end of this year’s Mock
Trial journey, but the team performed well and to be
one of 20 remaining schools out of 82 is a great
accomplishment!
How to Remember PHS in Your Will or Trust: 4 Easy Steps
Remembering Providence High School in your will be used for our most pressing needs.
or trust is the most enduring statement you can
make about your belief in our mission. The support
you have offered throughout your lifetime can go on for
years to come.
Your gift can be a specific asset, such as a certain
amount of cash, securities or property, or a percentage
of your estate. Plus, not only is a gift in your will
flexible—you can change your mind at any time—but
it can be accomplished in as little as four steps:
1. Determine whether you’d like to make a gift of a
specific amount or if you’d like to leave a percentage.
2. Decide if you want to direct your gift to help particular
projects or leave your gift unrestricted, allowing it to
3. See your attorney to include your gift in your will or
revocable living trust.
4. If you desire, please notify us of your intention so
we can thank you and keep you informed of ongoing
activities. We are happy to adhere to your wishes
regarding anonymity.
A gift in your will is an easy way to support Providence
High School. To learn more about this simple way to
ensure our mission continues into the future, please
contact Paul Kaminski, Director of Advancement,
at (818) 846-8141 ext. 402 or Paul.Kaminski@
