<strong>Keppel</strong> Nantong<br />
Ushering in the new year<br />
on a positive note,<br />
<strong>Keppel</strong> Nantong Shipyard<br />
(<strong>Keppel</strong> Nantong) received<br />
two awards from the<br />
Nantong Municipal People’s<br />
Government.<br />
The company was ranked<br />
sixth among Nantong’s Top<br />
10 Export Enterprises for<br />
achieving an export value of<br />
US$129 million from January<br />
to November 2009.<br />
This represented a 231%<br />
increase compared to the<br />
same period in 2008.<br />
<strong>Keppel</strong> Nantong was given a<br />
cash award of RMB 769,000<br />
(approximately $157,000)<br />
from the city’s government<br />
for its contributions.<br />
It was also lauded for<br />
implementing an excellent<br />
set of safety practices and<br />
policies by the Nantong<br />
Administration of Work<br />
Safety and received a<br />
Safety Excellence Award<br />
on 14 January <strong>2010</strong>.<br />

of <strong>Keppel</strong> Nantong, said,<br />

government’s recognition<br />
of our safety practices, as<br />
well as efforts in<br />
contributing to the export<br />
revenue and employment<br />
growth of Nantong. We<br />

opportunities and<br />
contribute more to the<br />
development of Nantong’s<br />

Leveraging<br />
cyberspace<br />
With the aim to enhance<br />
communication and<br />
efficiency, <strong>Keppel</strong> Land is<br />
looking into space, more<br />
precisely, cyberspace. The<br />
company recently concluded<br />
its first ever Best<br />
Departmental Website<br />
competition.<br />
Spanning two months, the<br />
competition was organised<br />
to encourage all<br />
departments to adopt and<br />
promulgate innovative usage<br />
of K2Portal, a web-based<br />
knowledge sharing platform,<br />
for their operational needs.<br />
During the awards ceremony<br />
in December, Mr Kevin Chua,<br />
Head of <strong>Keppel</strong> Land IT,<br />
shared, “While spurring on<br />
optimal usage of the<br />
portal, it is also timely to<br />
recognise the efforts of<br />
the departments that<br />
have leveraged the K2<br />
Portal to collaborate and<br />
share information for<br />
the company’s collective<br />
knowledge in the last five<br />
years.”<br />
Representing the winning<br />
department, Mr Stephen<br />
Choo, Senior GM of<br />
International Projects, said,<br />
“We created this website<br />
with the intention of making<br />
it an integral component of<br />
our project management<br />
processes and a learning<br />
platform for all our project<br />
staff.”<br />
Ms Eva Ho, Assistant<br />
GM of Group Corporate<br />
Communications, who<br />
was one of the judges,<br />
commented, “I’m very<br />
impressed with the breadth<br />
and depth of information<br />
available on the K2Portal,<br />
which will contribute<br />
effectively towards better<br />
information-sharing within<br />
