USED IN THE<br />
EARLY STAGES<br />
OF OSTEO-<br />
ARTHRITIS<br />
<strong>Crespine</strong> <strong>Gel</strong> is indicated <strong>for</strong> use in <strong>the</strong> <strong>treatment</strong> <strong>of</strong> patients suffering<br />
from osteoarthritis pain in <strong>the</strong> knee who do not respond to<br />
o<strong>the</strong>r <strong>treatment</strong>s <strong>for</strong> mild to moderate osteoarthritis.<br />

<strong>Crespine</strong> <strong>Gel</strong> © is a registered product under <strong>the</strong> essential requirements <strong>of</strong> Annex I <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
Council Directive 93/42/EEC. Certificate Registration no. 368777 MRA, CE 0297.<br />
I first began using <strong>Crespine</strong> <strong>Gel</strong> when I started at<br />
NIMI in November 2010. I do a lot <strong>of</strong> injections with<br />
<strong>the</strong> use <strong>of</strong> x-ray, including hips. In a short period<br />
<strong>of</strong> time, I treated about 20 hips with <strong>Crespine</strong> <strong>Gel</strong><br />
and I am impressed by <strong>the</strong> immediate effect it has<br />
on <strong>the</strong> patients I have treated. Most <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>m have<br />
experienced significant improvement immediately!<br />
I look <strong>for</strong>ward with excitement to <strong>the</strong> long-term<br />
follow-up <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>se patients.<br />
Dr Göran Skog, NIMI (Norwegian Institute <strong>for</strong> Sports<br />
Medicine)<br />
Throughout 2010 I treated many patients with<br />
<strong>Crespine</strong> <strong>Gel</strong>, giving injections in ankles, knees,<br />
hips and shoulders. I find it to be a very exciting<br />
product. <strong>Crespine</strong> <strong>Gel</strong> seems to have a longerlasting<br />
effect than o<strong>the</strong>r types <strong>of</strong> hyaluronic acid<br />
products and cortisone. This means less-frequent<br />
injections <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> patient and less expense.<br />
Dr. Rafn Lindal Björnsson,<br />
NIMI (Norwegian Institute <strong>for</strong> Sports Medicine)
Using <strong>Crespine</strong> <strong>Gel</strong><br />
is simple. Remove<br />
<strong>the</strong> syringe from<br />
<strong>the</strong> package and<br />
it is ready <strong>for</strong><br />
use –<strong>the</strong>re is no<br />
measuring or<br />
prep work <strong>of</strong> any<br />
kind. Administering<br />
<strong>Crespine</strong> <strong>Gel</strong><br />
takes only 10-20<br />
minutes.<br />
THE CRESPINE ADVANTAGE<br />
SINGLE INJECTION<br />
<strong>Crespine</strong> <strong>Gel</strong> is a single injection<br />
<strong>treatment</strong> that takes only 10-20<br />
minutes to administer and lasts<br />
<strong>for</strong> 6-8 months. This reduces<br />
<strong>the</strong> risk <strong>of</strong> infection and increases<br />
patient compliance<br />
and joint fluid.<br />
NO SIDE-EFFECTS<br />
To date, several thousand<br />
patients have been treated with<br />
<strong>Crespine</strong> <strong>Gel</strong> and <strong>the</strong>re have<br />
been no reported side-effects<br />
associated with its use.<br />
A NATURALLY-OCCURRING<br />
SUBSTANCE<br />
<strong>Crespine</strong> <strong>Gel</strong> is 100% hyaluronic<br />
acid, a naturally-occurring<br />
substance in <strong>the</strong> body that is<br />
an important component <strong>of</strong><br />
articular cartilage.<br />
COST EFFECTIVE<br />
<strong>Crespine</strong> <strong>Gel</strong> costs half <strong>the</strong> price<br />
<strong>of</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r intraarticular injectables<br />
<strong>for</strong> osteoarthritis <strong>treatment</strong> and<br />
requires only a single injection<br />
to achieve effectiveness <strong>for</strong><br />
6-8 months. This makes it more<br />
a<strong>for</strong>dable <strong>for</strong> patients and more<br />
cost-effective <strong>for</strong> healthcare<br />
providers.<br />
NON-ANIMAL ORIGIN<br />
<strong>Crespine</strong> <strong>Gel</strong> is a hyaluronanbased<br />
intraarticular injectable<br />
that is not derived from animal<br />
sources. This removes ethical<br />
concerns and eliminates <strong>the</strong><br />
danger <strong>of</strong> allergic reactions.<br />
DELAYS NEED FOR SURGERY<br />
Regular <strong>treatment</strong> with <strong>Crespine</strong><br />
<strong>Gel</strong> makes cartilage more<br />
flexible and delays <strong>the</strong> fur<strong>the</strong>r<br />
deterioration <strong>of</strong> cartilage, slowing<br />
progress <strong>of</strong> decline in <strong>the</strong><br />
patient’s condition.<br />
As a consulting orthopedic surgeon, I have used <strong>Crespine</strong> <strong>Gel</strong> <strong>for</strong> one year on over 100 selected patients. There have been no complications<br />
in tolerance <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> implant ( gel ) . Most <strong>of</strong> my patients have osteoarthritis <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> knee joint. Even <strong>for</strong> grade III osteoarthritis,<br />
<strong>Crespine</strong> <strong>Gel</strong> can be used to delay knee replacement. Good indications <strong>for</strong> use <strong>of</strong> <strong>Crespine</strong> <strong>Gel</strong> are also rotator cuff tears ( old )<br />
or older patients with secondary osteoarthritis <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> shoulder joint. Even <strong>the</strong> single shot application is something very convenient<br />
<strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> patient because <strong>the</strong>y only have to come <strong>for</strong> <strong>treatment</strong> once, get only one injection with one risk <strong>of</strong> joint infection. In serious<br />
arthritis cases we had to repeat <strong>the</strong> injection after 4 months, but <strong>the</strong> average effectiveness was 6 to 12 months.<br />

TECHNOLOGY<br />
THAT SETS<br />
A NEW<br />
STANDARD<br />
CRM <strong>technology</strong> is a 4-step process developed by German<br />
scientists. <strong>Crespine</strong> <strong>Gel</strong> is cross-linked and stabilized due to<br />
unique CRM <strong>technology</strong>. This ensures that <strong>the</strong> body breaks down<br />
<strong>Crespine</strong> <strong>Gel</strong> slowly, resulting in a longer-lasting effect.<br />
STEP 1<br />
Hyaluronic acid is syn<strong>the</strong>sized<br />
from non-animal sources<br />
STEP 2<br />
The first cross-linking <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
hyaluronic acid solution is<br />
completed<br />
STEP 3<br />
Washing and stabilization <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> hyaluronic acid gel takes<br />
place<br />
STEP 4<br />
The second cross-linking is<br />
completed, with <strong>the</strong> addition<br />
<strong>of</strong> hyaluronic acid coil-linked<br />
solution. This is followed by<br />
terminal purification.<br />
SINGLE INJECTION TREATMENT<br />
VS<br />
MULTIPLE INJECTION TREATMENT<br />
SINGLE INJECTION<br />
Less frequent follow-up<br />
Reduced risk <strong>of</strong> infection<br />
Cost effective<br />
Increased patient<br />
satisfaction<br />
VS<br />
MULTIPLE INJECTION<br />
More follow-up visits<br />
Greater infection potential<br />
Higher costs<br />
Inconvenience<br />
to patients<br />
