GERBER CUTTING TECHNOLOGY
We use S-91 GERBERCUTTERS, which are the top of the line in textile cutting equipment. The computerized accuracy and heavy duty rack and
pinion beam have made the S-91 the cutter of choice by leaders in the garment industry as well as aerospace manufacturers. This same CAD-
CAM technology also ensures consistent, precise cutting of Convertible Tops, Window Curtains, Tonneau Covers and other products in our
manufacturing operations.
HOW TO ORDER OUR PRODUCTS
• PART NUMBERS ARE LISTED BY MODEL YEAR UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED.
• SOME PART NUMBERS REQUIRE MORE DETAILED VEHICLE INFORMATIOM, DESCRIPTION, MEASUREMENTS, etc.
• CONFIRM THE MAKE, MODEL & YEAR OF CAR. CHECK V.I.N. NUMBER WITH DEALER, OR CONTACT ROBBINS, TO BE CERTAIN.
• SELECT OUR PART NUMBER FROM OUR CATALOG SUCH AS 5411 (CHRYSLER SEBRING) OR 2750C (BMW Z-3).
• SELECT A CLOTH OR VINYL TOPPING AND COLOR: SF BKB, SG BLB, TW MBB, BS BKG, CG BKB, RC MTB, etc.
• SELECT A BINDING TYPE IF ITEM IS TO BE MADE IN A CLOTH TOPPING, SUCH AS “C” FOR MATCHING CLOTH BINDING.
• SPECIFIED ANY SPECIAL FEATURES SUCH AS A WINDOW LINING COLOR.
• BUILD A COMPLETE PART NUMBER SUCH AS 5411 SS BKG, 2750C SG BKB, 2450TR BS BKG, etc.
• DOUBLE CHECK TO MAKE SURE YOU ORDER THE CORRECT ITEM FOR YOUR CUSTOMER’S CAR.
SPECIAL ORDER/NON-RETURNABLE ITEMS: All convertible Tops or
other products for which we have less than 10 sales per year, or
ordered in non-original toppings or colors, CANNOT BE RETURNED
FOR CREDIT. We list the original toppings and colors used by the
convertible manufacturers for all products we make in our Catalog.
Collecting Full Payment in advance from your retail customer
is strongly recommended before placing ALL non-returnable
orders.
NOTES ON ORDERING GLASS OR PLASTIC WINDOWS
Always order tops and glass or plastic windows with the same color
backing. Even in convertibles equipped with Headliners, these do not
always completely conceal the backing of Tops, Glass or Plastic Windows.
Glass and Plastic Windows with Bottom Color Trim ordered in Robbins
Sun-Fast colors with plain black backing will be made using a KV Black
Single Texture Vinyl Assembly and Sun-Fast Bottom Color Trim to match
the outside color of the Top. The black backing color of the KV Black will
be a close match to the inside black backing color of the Sun-Fast Top with
which it will be installed. If the Glass Rear Window is ordered in Robbins
Sun-Fast Cloth colors with tan backing, the entire Window Assembly
MUST be made in Sun-Fast Cloth so that both the outside color and inside
tan backing color will match exactly with the Sun-Fast Top with which it
will be installed. (Glass Rear Windows can be ordered made entirely in
Sun-Fast Cloth with black backing if an exact match to the black backing
cloth of the Sun-Fast Top is required). Prices for Tops (and Plastic
Windows with no bottom color trim to match top) ordered in Robbins Sun-
Fast Cloth are the same if ordered in Black or Tan backing.
When Glass or Plastic Windows (with or without bottom color trim to match Top) are
ordered in Robbins Sun-Fast, Haartz Twillfast or German Cloth Toppings, (Black or Tan
Backing), the entire Window Assembly must be made in cloth. This is to insure that both the
outside color and the inside Black or Tan dobby backing color will match exactly with the
Sun-Fast “G”, Twillfast or German Cloth Top with which it will be installed.

TOPPINGS AND OTHER MATERIALS
This is a period of great change in Toppings, Headliners and other
materials used in convertibles. Many new convertibles are being
introduced and Automotive Design and Styling departments want to
use new toppings and colors to obtain a fresh new look. Toppings and
colors previously in use are then discontinued. Simply keeping abreast
of all the changes in toppings and headliner materials is a challenge,
and keeping these various toppings in stock is difficult. Topping
suppliers such as Haartz impose large minimum yardage requirements
to run special colors of PVC Vinyl Toppings, and prohibitively high
requirements exist to order special colors of Cloth Toppings with the
result that many toppings are being discontinued at a rapid rate. It is no
longer possible to list all colors and toppings, headliners and other
materials in our Catalog, since any list of colors becomes obsolete
almost immediately. Instead we will list only basic colors, and ask our
Customers to use our Topping Sample System, or consult our
website at www.robbinsautotopco.com to see the full range of
toppings, colors and headliner materials we currently have
available.

Cavalier, Pontiac Sunfire and 1995-97 Corvette convertibles and is the topping we recommend be used in place of discontinued Double Texture Vinyl.

SS-SAILCLOTH SINGLE TEXTURE VINYL with Gray Polyester/Cotton Blend Backing.
This single Texture Vinyl is run on a polyester/cotton blend backing which is much stronger than 100% cotton backings and is made by Haartz and other manufacturers. While the backing color is
gray, as opposed to the black used in the past, we have found convertible owners do not as a rule notice this color change since both Chrysler and Mustang convertibles are equipped with headliners.

Robbins designed a new JP Sport Utility Vehicle Topping to offer a light weight and strong Topping run on a gray polyester/cotton blend backing with excellent stretch characteristics. Our JP CWG is
run in Crush Grain in the bright Cami White color for use in Suzuki Samurai (SJ413, Sierra), Sidekick (Vitara) and Geo Tracker Tops. Our JD is run in Denim Grain which is very close to the grain
originally used for Isuzu Amigo Tops.
