<strong>HLG</strong> <strong>awarded</strong> <strong>oil</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>gas</strong> <strong>contract</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Iraq</strong><br />
Habtoor <strong>Leighton</strong> Group (<strong>HLG</strong>) has been <strong>awarded</strong> a sub-<strong>contract</strong> for the construction of <strong>in</strong>frastructure <strong>in</strong><br />
Southern <strong>Iraq</strong> <strong>and</strong> is part of an eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g, procurement <strong>and</strong> construction project to deliver a central<br />
production facility.<br />
<strong>HLG</strong> CEO <strong>and</strong> Manag<strong>in</strong>g Director Laurie Voyer said the project is <strong>in</strong> l<strong>in</strong>e with the Group’s strategy to<br />
diversify its work by type <strong>and</strong> geography <strong>and</strong> will be the first <strong>contract</strong> <strong>HLG</strong> has been <strong>awarded</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Iraq</strong>.<br />
“<strong>HLG</strong> has developed an outst<strong>and</strong><strong>in</strong>g reputation for deliver<strong>in</strong>g complex projects <strong>in</strong> remote locations, <strong>and</strong><br />
we are delighted to be work<strong>in</strong>g on this key project,” he said.<br />
<strong>HLG</strong>’s <strong>in</strong>itial scope of works comprises the partial eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g, <strong>and</strong> construction of civil, utility, <strong>and</strong><br />
<strong>in</strong>frastructure works, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g:<br />

Sadik.<br />
“We appreciate the importance of this project, <strong>and</strong> its successful delivery will st<strong>and</strong> <strong>HLG</strong> <strong>in</strong> good stead to<br />
secure additional <strong>oil</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>gas</strong>-related work – further cement<strong>in</strong>g our position as one of the lead<strong>in</strong>g<br />
diversified <strong>in</strong>ternational <strong>contract</strong>ors <strong>in</strong> the Middle East <strong>and</strong> North Africa,” Mr Sadik said.<br />
Works will commence immediately, with completion scheduled for early 2014.<br />
