26 ADMISSION POLICIES<br />
The academic performance of provisionally admitted students will be reviewed at the completion of the<br />
first and second semesters at SNU. Full admission to SNU will be granted if:<br />
the student has successfully completed (def<strong>in</strong>ed as a grade of “C” or better) the prescribed course<br />
sequence noted above.<br />
the student has earned at least a 1.75 semester GPA for the first semester and at least a 2.00 cumulative<br />
GPA on 24 earned semester hours by the end of the second traditional semester.<br />
the student has fulfilled any further requirements of provisional admissions.<br />
If the criteria for full admission have not been met as designated above, the student shall be declared<br />
“academically <strong>in</strong>eligible” subject to re<strong>in</strong>statement by appeal to the Director of ACE.<br />
Bible College Transfer Admission<br />
Students transferr<strong>in</strong>g from Bible colleges with accreditation from the Association for Biblical Higher Education<br />
(ABHE) may transfer up to 90 credit hours accord<strong>in</strong>g to the general requirements for full acceptance of<br />
transfer work.<br />
In addition, a Bible college transfer student plann<strong>in</strong>g for a major or concentration <strong>in</strong> any of the School of Theology<br />
and M<strong>in</strong>istry programs must meet established requirements set forth by the School. A m<strong>in</strong>imum of 15<br />
credit hours <strong>in</strong> religion, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g courses <strong>in</strong> theology and Biblical literature, must be taken at SNU. Other specific<br />
requirements depend on the particular program of study be<strong>in</strong>g pursued. Bible college credit hours must<br />
be validated on the basis of successfully meet<strong>in</strong>g academic coursework expectations at SNU.<br />
Requests for transfer from nonaccredited <strong>in</strong>stitutions must be submitted <strong>in</strong> writ<strong>in</strong>g to the Dean of the College<br />
of Humanities and are considered on an <strong>in</strong>dividual basis.<br />
Transfer Nondegree-Seek<strong>in</strong>g Admission<br />
A student who has been admitted to another college or university and plans to complete six or fewer<br />
credit hours at SNU may be admitted as a nondegree-seek<strong>in</strong>g candidate. Nondegree candidate transfers<br />
must submit an official transcript from the school at which the student is currently enrolled or the last<br />
school attended. Credit hours earned as a nondegree candidate may not be used toward a degree at SNU<br />
until the student has met all requirements for full admission.<br />
INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ADMISSION<br />
Requests for admission <strong>in</strong>formation for <strong>in</strong>ternational students should be addressed to the Office of<br />
International Student Services. Information detail<strong>in</strong>g the admission requirements will be sent to the<br />
prospective student. Demonstration of English proficiency is required through a qualify<strong>in</strong>g score. Students<br />
without qualify<strong>in</strong>g TOEFL or IELTS scores may apply to SNU's Center for Applied Studies <strong>in</strong> English<br />
(ASEC).<br />
VETERAN ADMISSION<br />
Veterans who meet the requirements for admission will be allowed advanced stand<strong>in</strong>g to the extent that<br />
their experience <strong>in</strong> the armed forces is applicable to the program they are pursu<strong>in</strong>g at SNU. The Guide to<br />
the Evaluation of Educational Experience <strong>in</strong> the Armed Forces, issued by the American Council on<br />
Education, will be followed <strong>in</strong> evaluat<strong>in</strong>g the student's educational experiences for such advanced<br />
stand<strong>in</strong>g. A total of four credit hours <strong>in</strong> physical education will be allowed for basic or boot tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g, if<br />
the student is not a k<strong>in</strong>esiology major. Additional credit hours may be secured by petition<strong>in</strong>g for<br />
advanced stand<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> writ<strong>in</strong>g with the dean of the college of the student’s selected major. To secure<br />
advanced stand<strong>in</strong>g, the veteran must furnish transcripts of credit hours completed <strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong>stitutions of<br />
higher learn<strong>in</strong>g and official records <strong>in</strong>dicat<strong>in</strong>g educational achievements dur<strong>in</strong>g military service.<br />
