Mr. Sardar Aseff Ahmad Ali,<br />

Federal Minister of Education<br />

of Pakistan, visited <strong>IRCICA</strong><br />

<strong>IRCICA</strong> was honoured to receive at its headquarters H.E. Mr.<br />

Sardar Aseff Ahmad Ali, Member of the National Assembly<br />

and Federal Minister of Education of Pakistan, on 12 July 2010.<br />

Dr. Eren briefed the Minister on the activities of <strong>IRCICA</strong>;<br />

words of appreciation were exchanged on the progress of<br />

cooperation between the Government, the academic and<br />

cultural institutions of Pakistan on one hand and <strong>IRCICA</strong><br />

on the other, as exemplified by the forthcoming Archeology<br />

Congress to be held in Islamabad on 21-25 January 2011. The<br />

Minister recorded his impressions in the Visitors’ Book: “Truly<br />

this is one of the most important centres of Islamic research<br />

and exquisite arts.”<br />

Mr. Mohammed Abdulsettar al-Sayed,<br />

Minister of Waqfs of Syria,<br />

at <strong>IRCICA</strong><br />

On 22 July, Mr. Mohammed Abdulsettar al-Sayed,<br />

Minister of Waqfs of the Syrian Arab Republic,<br />

visited <strong>IRCICA</strong>. The meeting with Dr. Eren reviewed<br />

the events, most of which are academic congresses,<br />

organised in recent years jointly by the Government<br />

of Syria and <strong>IRCICA</strong>. The Minister also received brief<br />

information on recent progress in the activities of the<br />

Centre. The Minister recorded his impressions in the<br />

Visitors’ Book expressing happiness “to visit this great<br />

Islamic center and to discover its rich scholarly and<br />

historical heritage.”<br />

Mr. Mahlim Hakimuddin,<br />

representative of the Sultan of Bhara Dr. Mohammed Burhanuddin,<br />

visited <strong>IRCICA</strong><br />

The Centre was honoured to receive Mr. Mahlim Hakimuddin, representative of Dr. Mohammed Burhanuddin, the Sultan of<br />

Bhara, and his delegastion, on 14 October 2010. In the absence of Dr. Eren, Mr. Mohammed Tamimi, Deputy Director General,<br />

and Mr. Abdullah Topaloğlu, Director, <strong>IRCICA</strong><br />

Library, briefed the distinguished guests on the<br />

Centre’s objectives and activities and guided<br />

them on a tour to the different departments. At<br />

the end of his visit Mr. Hakimuddin recorded his<br />

impressions in the Centre’s Book, underlining<br />

sience and scholarship: “Imam Ali bin Abi Talib<br />

(PBUH) said: ‘Science is a precious heritage’.<br />

These noble words teach us to engage in science,<br />

to acquire it and to transfer it at the same time.<br />

During our visit to this historical city of Istanbul,<br />

we were happy to see the interest and the care this<br />

great center of learning accords to the Islamic<br />

heritage and its lofty civilization.”<br />
