Regional transit traffic<br />
- <strong>Tbilisi</strong> located at the crossroads between several regions & countries: Turkey-<br />
Azerbaijan, Turkey-Armenia, Russia-Armenia<br />
- External ring road is not completed between Rustavi Highway and Marneuli<br />
Highway.<br />
Local transit traffic<br />
- Several bottlenecks in the city center while local thru traffic has to go through the<br />
city center (mainly on the embankments),<br />
- Rationale to propose an inner ring road for traffic between the suburbs.<br />
- Alignment possible along the <strong>Tbilisi</strong> Sea in the context of the <strong>Tbilisi</strong> Sea<br />
Development <strong>project</strong> and the railway bypass <strong>project</strong>.<br />
