I. Hill 60 Park<br />
Take in the spectacular views of Port Kembla Beach from Hill<br />
60 Park. A popular take off area for hang gliders and para<br />
gliders, Hill 60 Park has BBQ facilities as well as picnic shelters,<br />
seats and tables positioned to enjoy the scenic views.<br />
J. Kanahooka Point & Koonawarra Bay<br />
Featuring a cycle way that borders around Lake Illawarra,<br />
Kanahooka Point is the place to enjoy a variety of activities.<br />
A ramp located at the northern end of the park is a great place<br />
to launch boats for a day of water activities. The park is<br />
surrounded by landscaped gardens and large grassy areas.<br />

<strong>Wollongong</strong>’s <strong>Foreshore</strong> <strong>Parks</strong> offer a variety of recreational<br />
facilities to ensure an enjoyable visit to the Illawarra.<br />
Picnic shelters and huts cannot be booked and are frequently<br />
used on the weekends so get in early to secure a spot. Park<br />
bookings for large functions are required and can be made<br />
by contacting the Recreation and Natural Resources Division<br />
of <strong>Wollongong</strong> <strong>City</strong> <strong>Council</strong>.<br />

K. Windang <strong>Foreshore</strong> Park<br />
For those who prefer a spot of fishing, Windang <strong>Foreshore</strong><br />
Park is the ideal location. Situated next to Lake Illawarra,<br />
Windang Beach and Windang Tourist Park, this area is the<br />
perfect spot to sit back and relax by the water. This park<br />
features a playground, with picnic shelters and ample shade<br />
trees.<br />
Whether it be a picnic with the family or a lazy afternoon in<br />
the sun, <strong>Wollongong</strong>’s foreshore parks are the ideal place for<br />
any occasion.<br />

Stretching along 60km of beautiful coastline, <strong>Wollongong</strong>’s<br />
<strong>Foreshore</strong> <strong>Parks</strong> offer some of the best recreational areas<br />
along the coast. Some of the park features include<br />
BBQ and picnic areas, regional playground facilities, large<br />
grassy open space areas and spectacular coastal views.<br />
These parks are located adjacent to the city’s patrolled beaches<br />
(October – April) and the splendour of Lake Illawarra.<br />
A. Bald Hill Headland Reserve &<br />
B. Stanwell Park Recreation Area<br />
Just 30 mins south of Sydney, Bald Hill<br />
Headland reserve offers some of the most<br />
spectacular views across <strong>Wollongong</strong>.<br />
Bald Hill is recognised world wide for the<br />
birth of flight and for hang gliding. Just a<br />
short drive down the hill is Stanwell Park<br />
Recreation area. This area offers a regional<br />
playground facility and kiosk and is within<br />
walking distance of Stanwell Park beach.<br />
This area is a great place to relax and<br />
watch the hang gliders sail down from<br />
Bald Hill.<br />
C. Austinmer Beach Park,<br />
D. Thirroul Beach Reserve &<br />
E. Bulli Beach Reserve<br />
Overlooking some of Australia’s finest beaches,<br />
these parks are the perfect place for a day out<br />
by the sea. Featuring picnic shelters and modern<br />
playground equipment, these parks adjoin sea<br />
pools and pristine patrolled beaches. Enjoy a<br />
bite to eat at the local cafés, adjacent to the<br />
beach reserves.<br />
F. Towradgi Park Reserve<br />
Towradgi Park reserve offers a<br />
range of recreational activities. The<br />
cycle way borders the modern<br />
playground facility and joins<br />
Towradgi and Corrimal Beaches.<br />
Shelter sheds and BBQ facilities are<br />
located in the eastern area of the<br />
park with a short walk to an ocean<br />
pool. Nearby tennis courts, soccer<br />
fields and bowling club ensure that<br />
Towradgi Park has something for<br />
everyone.<br />

G. Stuart Park<br />
One of the largest outdoor recreation<br />
areas in the city, Stuart Park is central<br />
to the <strong>Wollongong</strong> CBD, lagoon and<br />
North <strong>Wollongong</strong> Beach. The park<br />
features a large accessible playground<br />
and expansive grassed surrounds.<br />
Stuart Park has a number of picnic<br />
shelters and BBQ facilities that are<br />
popular on weekends. The scenic<br />
cycleway runs through the park and<br />
around <strong>Wollongong</strong> harbour. Vehicle<br />
parking is limited on most weekends<br />
so arrive early.<br />
H. <strong>City</strong> Beach <strong>Foreshore</strong><br />
& Lang Park<br />
Relax and enjoy a picnic at Belmore Basin while you watch<br />
the boats arrive into <strong>Wollongong</strong> Harbour. With grassy banks<br />
and plenty of shade trees, <strong>City</strong> Beach <strong>Foreshore</strong> is the ideal<br />
place for a day out. Enjoy the view of the harbour or walk<br />
around the picturesque lighthouse at Flagstaff Hill. The <strong>City</strong><br />
Beach cycle way leads down to Lang Park where playground<br />
facilities and undercover picnic huts are located. Lang Park<br />
has a large reserve that is ideal for playing outdoor games.<br />
The <strong>Wollongong</strong> Entertainment Centre and WIN Stadium are<br />
a short distance from the park.
