March 19, 2010
Dear Convention Delegate,
Welcome to the 84th Annual VSCA State Convention! The VSCA Advisory Committee has
been working hard over the past few months to ensure that this year’s Convention will be
informative, productive and fun! We hope that you have been looking forward to Convention
as much as we have, and that you’ve come with lots of ideas to share, along with an eagerness
to meet new people and learn new things to take back to share with the students at your
school.
During Convention this year we will focus on the 2009-2010 VSCA state theme, “VSCA:
Leading with Love”. This is a unique theme which we know touches each person and each
school in many different ways. That’s why we’ve been excited to hear about the wonderful
projects that your schools have undertaken regarding this theme. We think you will enjoy the
many ways the theme will present itself over the next few days. We want you to leave this
weekend exhausted from all the activity, yet energized about student leadership and ready to
make a difference in your school and in your community. It is our hope that you have come to
Convention with a mind open to new ideas and that you will leave with a strong sense of
empowerment, inspiration and motivation to try these new ideas. Thank you for your continued
support of and dedication to student councils. Have a wonderful weekend!
