By <strong>work</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>toge<strong>the</strong>r</strong>, specialized <strong>cells</strong> can accomplish tasks <strong>the</strong>y cannot <strong>do</strong><br />
alone. In this activity, each of your team members will be a specialized cell.<br />
Each “cell” will have some abilities but not o<strong>the</strong>rs. As a result, your team<br />
can only complete a given task through team<strong>work</strong>.<br />
1. Assign one student <strong>the</strong> role of Cell 1 and ano<strong>the</strong>r student <strong>the</strong> role of<br />
Cell 2. The rema<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g team members are Cell 3.<br />
• Cell 1: can move but not talk<br />
• Cell 2: can talk but not move<br />
• Cell 3: cannot move or talk o<strong>the</strong>r than to tell o<strong>the</strong>r <strong>cells</strong> its birth date<br />
2. Complete <strong>the</strong> task of l<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g up all Cell 3 team members <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> order of<br />
<strong>the</strong>ir birth dates, from earliest to latest <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> year.<br />
3. Expla<strong>in</strong> how <strong>work</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>toge<strong>the</strong>r</strong> as you did enabled you to accomplish a<br />
task that each member of your team could not have <strong>do</strong>ne alone.<br />
