FABRIC REQUIREMENTS & CUTTING GUIDE<br />

Quilt Size- 56½” x 64”<br />

Fabric A- <strong>Grace</strong> <strong>in</strong> a <strong>Pickle</strong> Squares 0331-0350 1 ¼ yards or<br />

• See <strong>in</strong>structions to fussy cut twenty-eight 8” squares. Five complete rows<br />

(60” wide)<br />

Fabric B- Pla<strong>in</strong> White 5901-2174 1 yard<br />

• Cut two 6” x 42” strips. Sub-cut <strong>in</strong>to fifty-six 1 ½” x 6” strips.<br />

• Cut two 8” x 42” strips. Sub-cut <strong>in</strong>to fifty-six 1 ½” x 8” strips.<br />

Fabric C- Outer Border & B<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>g 0519-0311 1 1/8 yards<br />

• Cut seven 2 ½” x 42” strips. Piece the strips together to make two<br />

2 ½” x 60 ½” strips and two 2 ½” x 57” strips.<br />

• Cut seven 2 ½” x 42” strips for the b<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

<strong>Grace</strong> Blocks- Twenty Assorted pr<strong>in</strong>ts<br />

• Cut total of twenty-eight 6” squares.<br />

Back<strong>in</strong>g- Red & Cream Flowers 0518-0311 3 ¾ yards<br />

• Cut two 65” x 42” strips. Sew the strips together; trim to make one 65” x 72” back<strong>in</strong>g piece.<br />

Cutt<strong>in</strong>g the <strong>Grace</strong> <strong>in</strong> a <strong>Pickle</strong> Square:<br />

Refer to Figure 1 to cut apart the Fabric A squares by cutt<strong>in</strong>g through the middle of the blue star<br />

<strong>in</strong> both directions. This should give you a square slightly larger than 8” x 8”.<br />

Use an 8” square ruler to even up the blocks on all four sides. You will need twenty-eight 8”<br />

squares total.<br />

Sew one 1 ½” x 6” Fabric B strip to each side of one 6” <strong>Grace</strong> Block. Sew one 1 ½” x 8” Fabric B<br />

strip to the top and bottom of the 6” <strong>Grace</strong> Block to make one 8” pieced block (Fig. 2).<br />

Repeat to make twenty-eight pieced blocks total.<br />

Sew four 8” Fabric A squares and three pieced blocks together, alternat<strong>in</strong>g them, to make<br />

Row One (Fig. 3). Repeat to make four rows total.<br />

Sew four pieced blocks and three 8” Fabric A squares together, alternat<strong>in</strong>g them to make<br />

Row Two (Fig. 4). Repeat to make four rows total.<br />

Quilt Top Assembly (Refer to Figure 5 while assembl<strong>in</strong>g the quilt top)<br />

Sew the four Row Ones and four Row Twos together, alternat<strong>in</strong>g them to complete the<br />

quilt top.<br />

Sew one 2 ½” x 57” Fabric C strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew one 2 ½” x 60 ½” Fabric<br />

C strip to top and bottom of the quilt top.<br />

Layer and quilt as desired.<br />

Sew the seven 2 ½” x 42” Fabric C strips together, end to end with45° seams, to make the<br />

b<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>g. Fold this long strip <strong>in</strong> half, lengthwise with wrong sides together, and press.<br />

B<strong>in</strong>d as desired.<br />
