AQAR 2008-2009, MADRAS CHRISTIAN COLLEGE, CHENNAI
Part C
Short Term Plans
• For the various departmental, residential and amenity buildings in the campus
a resident civil supervisor is to be recruited and regular maintenance done.
• To provide support facility for students with a stationery shop and
photocopying facility.
• With the multifarious activities taking place in MCC and the fact that we have
our own faculty and students in media, it is envisaged that having a Media
Centre in MCC campus would enable proper reflection of the activities to the
world.
• With increased number of courses and the students, it is necessary to have a
few air conditioned seminar halls in campus.
Social Impact
• The college management is exploring the possibility of a community college
to cater to the needs of economically and educationally disadvantaged
students.
• A detailed database of both Governmental and Non-Governmental
scholarships is to be maintained and students channelized to take full
advantage of the funding at their disposal.
• Review the activities of the extension activities in Pammal, FLI, and Oxfam
school and streamline the services extended to today’s needs.
• Completion of construction of new building of RSL School.
• Upgradation and modernization of Campus School.
92

AQAR 2008-2009, MADRAS CHRISTIAN COLLEGE, CHENNAI
Others
• A platform to share the knowledge and experience the members of the faculty
gained abroad with the rest of the college community. The forum will discuss
the experiences the staff gained through their overseas trip both in processing,
administration, cultural and academic levels. This would enable the
assessment of the existing conditions in MCC and make progressive changes
as and when required.
• A monthly newsletter is to be published highlighting the major activities in the
college.
• The alumni chapters across the globe are to be strengthened and their
involvement with the present activities mooted.
• Reinstating the importance of sports and games in competitive terms on
campus by recruiting a full time Sports Director
