The Howard Higgins System creates an
optimum worm food of C:N 10:1
On application worms start to breed in
large numbers. So this is
vermicomposting but in the ground !
They are the real workforce and fertility

The lost Science of Organic Cultivation is based on one of Sir Albert Howards

in modern agriculture with the invention of the chemical fertilizer industry and
thus the depletion of nutrients in our food. The additional text and colour plates

method of composting was based on the Chinese system dating back as far as
4,700 years. These peoples were completely self sufficient and did not import
or export anything. They did not have the degenerative diseases like cancer
that are so prevalant today. Richard has brought together this science with that

A partnership has been formed between Richard Higgins of New
Directions Foundation and SuSan Design to carry out up to date
trials on the Howard Higgins Hot Box System for scientific
publication.
The Hot boxes will be manufactured in Uganda from economic, durable
materials for distribution across Africa.
