Melton Shire Council have received funds to carry<br />
out weed control work and revegetation works<br />
along the creek corridor, through Melbourne<br />
Waters Corridors of Green grant program and<br />
plans to utilise the local community to assist in the<br />
works required to rehabilitate the reserve.<br />
The Iramoo~Albion GreenWeb is ring of open<br />
space running from the Iramoo-Cairnlea Lakes,<br />
down Jones Creek, connecting with Kororoit Creek,<br />
as far as Isabella Williams Reserve, and returns to<br />
its origins via the open space along the powerline<br />
easement and road easement that runs from<br />
Burnside back to Station Road and on past the<br />
north of Cairnlea. At multiple points within this open<br />
space ring are important historical, cultural and<br />
natural features. The central purpose of the ring<br />
and its connections are to provide a focus and<br />
destination for those using open space for<br />
recreation and relaxation. This destination will<br />
highlight, and invite residents to engage with and<br />
explore, the depth and extent of culture, history,<br />
wildlife and enjoyable places that lie currently as<br />
hidden gems across the West.<br />
