The proposed Trekkopje Access Road provides road access <strong>to</strong><br />
the m<strong>in</strong>e from the National Route B2 (Swakopmund – W<strong>in</strong>dhoek<br />
Road) and the rail sid<strong>in</strong>g at Arandis.<br />
The assignment entailed the prelim<strong>in</strong>ary and detail design for<br />
the new m<strong>in</strong>e access and haul road (±35km) plus the m<strong>in</strong>e<br />
railway sid<strong>in</strong>g <strong>to</strong> Trekkopje M<strong>in</strong>e, <strong>Royal</strong> Haskon<strong>in</strong>gDHV<br />
delivered the project requirements and <strong>to</strong>ok full responsibility for<br />
the successful execution of the project. Work was done <strong>in</strong><br />
conjunction with a Namibian based company (CSA) for local<br />
sup<strong>port</strong> and <strong>in</strong>puts where required.<br />
Services <strong>in</strong>cluded: Route location and traffic study, participation<br />
<strong>in</strong> public meet<strong>in</strong>g, <strong>to</strong>pographical survey, materials <strong>in</strong>vestigation<br />
prelim<strong>in</strong>ary and detailed design and tender documentation.<br />
