Background
Automated people movers (APMs) and personal rapid transit (PRT) transportation solutions
have the potential to become two of the cornerstones of urban transit. They are already highly
favoured by airports, and have been adopted by them in many parts of the world.
Passenger Terminal EXPO is an 11-year success story.
Attracting over 3,500 attendees every year, it has established
itself as a key meeting point for the world’s airports, airlines,
consultants and architects. For more than three years, APM
and PRT solutions have been a key part of the conference
at Passenger Terminal EXPO, and the 2010 event in
Brussels will see the APM/PRT session take centre stage,
with additional speakers plus the attraction of Europe’s first
dedicated exhibition for this sector.
Passenger Terminal EXPO 2010 will launch a pavilion within
the main show, dedicated to the presentation of APM and
PRT solutions. As part of the process, we will be inviting city
and transportation planners to come to an open forum and
conference on integrating this emerging transportation form
into their strategy.
The pavilion will enable exhibitors to reach an audience of key
personnel including: airport directors, airport project leaders,
airlines, architects, consultancies and consulting engineers,
as well as city and transportation planners. All of them
are looking to APM/PRT transport systems to provide an
environmentally friendly, sustainable and economic solution.
