Girls Dominate the<br />
Midlands Hockey<br />
<strong>Strathallan</strong> Girls Hockey Team have had an exceptional<br />
year winning all the Midland Championships in both<br />
Indoor and Outdoor tournaments.<br />
The U18 and U15 teams were victorious in both the indoor and<br />
outdoor tournaments while the U16 won the only one which was<br />
outdoors. <strong>Strathallan</strong> is the only school to win all five trophies in<br />
one season.<br />
Six U18 players, Elizabeth Cachia, Nicky Cochrane, Hannah<br />
Cox, Ciara Elwis, Charlotte Hartmann and Phillippa Orr were<br />
selected to play in the Midland U18 Indoor Squad at the Inter<br />
District Tournament and Elizabeth received the honour of being<br />
Team Captain.<br />
Equestrian Events<br />
There has been success for the Equestrian Team this term.<br />
Rosie Williams has been selected to ride in the Scottish U25<br />
Dressage team and Gareth Watt selected to train with the Scottish<br />
Dressage ‘C’ Squad.<br />
Heather Larson won her event against some strong competition in an<br />
“Arena Event” in the Novice class which has fences at 1.10m.<br />
Jenny Summersgill has qualified for the British Festival of Show Jumping<br />
(Scope Festival), and for the National Winter Blue Chip Championships.<br />
Corrie Stewart and Flora Hay achieved excellent double clear rounds<br />
representing <strong>Strathallan</strong> in the Intermediate Show Jumping team at<br />
Gleneagles where Corrie achieved the fastest time in the competition.
