Another major change for <strong>2010</strong>-<strong>11</strong> is that Ron Batt has<br />

changed roles from TIS NTC Rowing Coach to a new Rowing<br />

Australia position <strong>of</strong> Rowing High Performance Development<br />

Coordinator for Tasmania. In this new role Ron<br />

with be responsible for coordinating the Rowing Australia<br />

National Talent Identification (NTID) Program and the Rowing<br />

Australia National Elite Development Program (NEDP)<br />

within Tasmania.<br />

Outstanding program performances for <strong>2010</strong>-<strong>11</strong>:<br />

• Sam Beltz, Blair Tunevitsch, Anthony Edwards and joint<br />

WAIS/TIS scholarship holder Todd Skipworth won a silver<br />

medal in the lightweight four at the <strong>2010</strong> world rowing<br />

championship<br />

• Ali Foot, Blair Tunevitsch and Nick Baker won a silver<br />

medal in the lightweight eight at the <strong>2010</strong> world rowing<br />

championships<br />

• Blair Tunevitsch became the first Australian lightweight<br />

rower to win two medals at one world championship.<br />

• Kerry Hore won a silver medal in the woman’s double<br />

scull and got fourth place in the woman’s quad at the<br />

<strong>2010</strong> world rowing championships<br />

• Annabel Gibson finished fourth in the women’s lightweight<br />

quad at the U23 world rowing championships in<br />

Belarus. TIS Head coach Brett Crow coached the men’s<br />

lightweight four that won the silver medal at the same<br />

regatta.<br />

• <strong>Tasmanian</strong> coach John Driessen coached the Australian<br />

men’s quad scull winning a bronze medal at the world<br />

rowing championships.<br />

• TIS scholarship coach Ken Davey coached the men’s<br />

quad at the <strong>2010</strong> junior world rowing championships in<br />

the Czech Republic where they finished eighth.<br />
