Gordon, M.S. & Russo, K. (2009). Children’s Views Matter Too! A Pilot Project Assessing Children’s and
Adolescent’s Experiences of Clinical Psychology Services. Child Care in Practice, 15, 1, 39-48.
This clinical paper led to the development of a user involvement initiative at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick
Children, Clinical Psychology Department. Based on the findings from the research, information leaflets were
developed for users of the service, including both caregivers and children, to inform service users of the nature
of the service and to highlight issues such as ‘informed consent’.
Hargie
· Grant of €162,183 received in March, 2009 from EU-FP7-SEC-2007-6.1-03 Communication Strategies for Public
Authorities, for the University of Ulster part of a project entitled ‘Counter-Terrorism Crisis Communications
Strategies for Recovery and Continuity’. This is a collaborative project involving HEIs in Israel, Germany, Bulgaria,
Spain Greece and Northern Ireland. A total of €1.3 million has been awarded to this project.
· Invited to be Keynote Speaker at the ECREA Conference in Tampere, Finland, in October, 2009.
· Invited to submit a chapter on ‘Listening’ to the Sage Encyclopaedia of Human Relationships (2009), edited by
Harry Reis and Susan Sprecher.

and Monash University, Melbourne, in a comparative study of CST in Medical Schools in the UK, Australia and
