For over thirty-five years <strong>Haldex</strong> has been a leader in suspension<br />
valve technology. Our Controlled Response (CR) Height Control<br />
Valve has been used in the industry for many years <strong>and</strong> our<br />
Precision Response (PR) Height Control Valve offers technology <strong>and</strong><br />
modularity to decrease installation time <strong>and</strong> survive the toughest<br />
conditions.<br />
As the industries technology has advanced, vehicle systems have<br />
become even more complex. The use of lift axles <strong>and</strong> the need for<br />
variable deck heights has created complex systems with many<br />
components, fittings <strong>and</strong> potential leak paths. <strong>Haldex</strong> offers the<br />
<strong>ILAS</strong> III ® lift axle valve <strong>and</strong> COLAS ® Raise Lower valve to simplify<br />
these systems.<br />
The <strong>ILAS</strong> III <strong>and</strong> COLAS offer more than just the function of raising<br />
<strong>and</strong> lowering of a lift axle or deck of a trailer. These valves offer an<br />
automatic feature unique to each valve. The <strong>ILAS</strong> III can<br />
automatically lower <strong>and</strong> raise lift axles without operator<br />
intervention. The COLAS can automatically reset deck height to the<br />
normal ride height of the trailer without operator intervention.<br />
These features are what add value, reduce time <strong>and</strong> increase<br />
profitability for your company.
<strong>ILAS</strong> III ® Lift Axle Control Valve<br />
COLAS ® Axle Control Valve<br />
The COLAS ® Valve can be used to manually<br />
raise <strong>and</strong> lower the deck height of<br />
commercial vehicles <strong>and</strong> trailers. The<br />
COLAS ® Valve takes the place of current<br />
systems which require multiple<br />
components, fittings <strong>and</strong> plumbing. When<br />
connected in the manual operation, the valve<br />
can be used in mobile conditions.<br />
The <strong>ILAS</strong> III ® Valve controls the lifting of one or more<br />
axles by sensing a load through the primary air<br />
suspension. Manual <strong>and</strong> Fully Automatic versions are<br />
available. Both versions offer an adjustable pressure<br />
range to meet any lift axle application. The Manual<br />
version automatically lowers a lift axle when a load is<br />
present <strong>and</strong> is manually raised by pushing in a button.<br />
The optional automatic reset feature for the<br />
COLAS Valve is used in static conditions. When the<br />
emergency brakes on the trailer are engaged the COLAS<br />
can then be used to raise <strong>and</strong> lower the deck height of the trailer. When the<br />
emergency brakes are released, the h<strong>and</strong>le pops out <strong>and</strong> automatically<br />
returns to normal ride height. This feature eliminates the dependance of the<br />
operator to reset the valve to normal ride height.<br />
The Fully Automatic version can raise <strong>and</strong> lower the axle<br />
without manual intervention. The <strong>ILAS</strong> III ® Valve takes the<br />
place of current systems which use multiple components,<br />
fittings <strong>and</strong> plumbing.<br />
In using the <strong>ILAS</strong> III, the valve operates the lift axle as<br />
needed. This means that there is a reduction in wear on<br />
tires, brakes, wheel bearings <strong>and</strong> other components in<br />
the system. The <strong>ILAS</strong> III eliminates operator dependence<br />
<strong>and</strong> thus reduces time <strong>and</strong> added effort of the operator<br />
to control the lift axle.<br />
