Dental Cover
Provider: National Dental Plan (NDP)
• Do you currently have dental cover? If so, does this provide the level of cover
you want?
• If you already use a private dentist, how often do you or your family have
treatment? What is the average yearly cost of this treatment?
• Do you want to cover your children? They may be covered free under the NHS
until the age of 18, or 19 if in full-time education, but it may be worth including
them if they require orthodontic treatment (braces).
• You and/or your partner should consider carefully whether it is appropriate to
cancel any dental cover you might already have.
The benefit helps cover the cost of any necessary dental treatment as well as
preventative dental care with an NHS or private dentist. You can select dental cover for
yourself, your partner, your children and your family. You may choose from three levels of
cover, ranging from basic NHS coverage to more expensive private dental treatment.
With My Choice dental cover:
• You can visit the dentist of your choice and can even claim if you need
treatment overseas
• Your existing state of dental health does not affect your eligibility or your cover
• There is no waiting period – you can claim for dental treatment from the first day you
are covered.
