Its written in Dasratha’s introduction
that he is Righteousness personifies & a
tripe-braid confluence of diligent deeds,
spiritual wisdom & devotion. So, Truth
is the minister by the definition of ‘Manas’.
Now, the traits of ministers are shown in
‘Mahabharata’, Chanakya Niti & Vidur Niti.
I shall not get into that. I shall only present
a few things of Vyasa Pitha before you &
no political ethics can deny this provided
they are free of bias & prejudice. Few traits
of Minister. First, minister must’ve virtuous
intellect (sumati). The Truth whose minister
doesn’t possess virtuous intellect, the
prosperity of that state shall not argument, so
says the composer of ‘Minas’.

Second, minister must be the man of ethics
(suntit). Today’s, politics is absolutely…!
Forget it, let me not get into it, nonetheless
as a citizen of India one is bound to observe
that the politics is badly declining day by day!
Think about it, ethics is being defiled day by
day! This is not my subject, this is not my
domain, leave it!
So, minister must be of virtuous intellect
(sumati). Minister must possess virtuous
ethics (suniti). Third definition of minister
must be suriti. They must’ve a way (of
working). Much as the way of sun, which is
suriti. Sun absorbs all the water. It pulls out
water, but it distributes it in form of rain
wherever there is a need. Analogously, the
King & the ministers must’ve such a way
of working that they may well deduct tax
from everyone, but later distribute it to the
subject & to the needy, they must not direct
it to Swiss Bank! Because the world speaks
about the Swiss Bank, so do I, otherwise
one never knows where all they accumulate!
People come to me and tell me all the figures.
He must be of virtuous intellect, virtuous
ethics, virtuous way of working and must
hold virtuous affection (supriti) towards
the subject, towards the people. And these
are the traits of minister in form of Truth,
therefore I’m telling these traits to you.
Otherwise, in political ethics many different
traits of ministers shall be found.
Untruth can never be Truth, but in order
to explain Truth in a much simpler way, the
ethic- givers of our country have mentioned
in the epigrams that, if you utter untruth
100 times, then even the untruth turns into
Truth. In reality it doesn’t, pay attention, I
don’t support this idea. But suppose, as we
experience in the world that since so many
people have repeated the same thing it tends
to appear as Truth, though all are speaking
untruth. Hence, people tend believe it to be
Truth as so many people can’t be untrue.
At times majority are false, only some one
individual is Truthful.
I was in Africa when I got the news that
Ganesa is drinking milk in India. I ascertain
this news as per the current status. Intellect
was although not accepting. I forthwith
called at Talgajarda that, regardless of
whether Ganpati is drinking milk in the
world or not, but our Ganpati who is present
at the location from where begins the path
for chitracuti, offer a bowl of milk before
Him, and see whether He drinks or not, I
shall only believe then! People went there,
offered milk, for however long the bowl was
placed there, and my Ganesa didn’t drink!
I asked, send me the snap & the snap was
send. Ganpati was not drinking at all. Oh,
I also got the news from Washington that
Ganesa is drinking milk here as well. And
then as I refused to agree, many people began
to say, Bapu, can it ever be false since so many
people are saying the same thing? My reply
was, sometimes many can be false & at times
some one individual can be Truthful. Think
about it, by repeating untruth again & again
if it appeared to be Truth to everyone then
can you imagine, if at all you possess intellect,
that, what is it that doesn’t materialise by
repeating Truth over & over? Man can reach
till the Supreme Truth.
