Spectacular Homes of London

underground car-lift for the same house, based on a design for
an aircraft carrier lift, was nominated for an international civil
engineering award, coming a more-than-respectable second to
the Copenhagen metro system.
These projects would not be possible without putting precision
and technical skill at the heart of everything the company does.
It takes at least six weeks on a new project to get initial ideas
to flow, sketching and re-sketching them until they are just
right, before an incredibly detailed drawing package shapes the
final scheme—all before any work has been done on-site. Philippa
Thorp Design doesn’t shy away from doing things the hard way
if it gets the right result. For this penthouse duplex, part of the
concrete floor was cut away to create room for the new staircase:
