Convention 2011 PLANT, GROW, BLOOM CONVENTION 2011 Garden club members from across the state traveled to Richmond in May 2011 to participate in the annual VFGC Convention. Highlights of the convention were: • Design program and workshop by John Klingel (pictured at right) • Election of Officers for 2011-2013 • Installation of Officers by NGC President, Renee Blaschke • Installation Design Tribute, “Wonderfully Unique” by Julia Clevett • Tea at the Governor’s Mansion • Awards Presentation • Shoppers Venue Under the leadership of VFGC President Elene Combs, the convention delegates considered the report of the VFGC Special Committee on Conventions and approved the recommendations submitted to hold a biennial convention in the election year and a one day VFGC Meeting in alternate years; that VFGC would host and plan their own conventions and meetings; and that conventions be held in a central location in the state. This change will start iwth the 2011-2013 administration. Images from Convention 2011 start on this page and continue through the awards list.
