Tom Ewald,<br />
M.Div.<br />
Professor of Pastoral Care <strong>and</strong><br />
Counseling<br />
Tom Ewald has a B.A. from <strong>Lincoln</strong> <strong>Christian</strong> College (1960), an M.A. in<br />
New Testament from <strong>Lincoln</strong> <strong>Christian</strong> Seminary (1964), an M.S. in Educational<br />
Psychology from Indiana <strong>University</strong> (1966), <strong>and</strong> an M.Div. in New Testament <strong>and</strong><br />
Theology from the Seminary (1969). He ministered five years with the <strong>Christian</strong><br />
Church in Brownstown, Illinois, <strong>and</strong> helped start four new churches in central<br />
Illinois. He became Dean of Students <strong>and</strong> professor of psychology at <strong>Lincoln</strong><br />
<strong>Christian</strong> College in 1966 <strong>and</strong> then moved to the Seminary as professor of Pastoral<br />
Care <strong>and</strong> Counseling in 1994. He has traveled throughout Europe <strong>and</strong> the Middle<br />
East, as well as in Mexico, <strong>and</strong> Venezuela. He has served on the boards of Mental<br />
Health Centers of Central Illinois, Pioneer Bible Translators, Human Rights of<br />
the <strong>Lincoln</strong> Developmental Center, <strong>Lincoln</strong> Pastoral Counseling Center, <strong>and</strong><br />
Jefferson Street <strong>Christian</strong> Church. He has served on thirteen evaluation teams<br />
for the Association of Biblical Higher Education <strong>and</strong> as featured speaker for<br />
Salvation Army Youth Conventions, state conventions, <strong>and</strong> the North American<br />
<strong>Christian</strong> Convention. He has published book reviews in the The Stone-Campbell<br />
Journal. He has taught classes at Florida <strong>Christian</strong> College, Eastern <strong>Christian</strong><br />
College, <strong>and</strong> Briercrest College in Saskatchewan, Canada. He is married to Janet,<br />
a former public school teacher. They have three grown children, Stephanie, Eric,<br />
<strong>and</strong> Christopher. He enjoys fishing, carpentry, backpacking, hunting, canoeing,<br />
