Dr. Robert A. Lowery, on faculty since 1975, earned a B.A. in <strong>Christian</strong><br />

Ministries from <strong>Lincoln</strong> <strong>Christian</strong> College in 1970, a Master of Divinity from<br />

the Seminary in 1973, a Master of Theology from Gordon-Conwell Theological<br />

Seminary in 1975, <strong>and</strong> a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the <strong>University</strong> of<br />

Aberdeen, Scotl<strong>and</strong> in 1991. He has taken courses at Princeton Theological<br />

Seminary <strong>and</strong> Harvard Divinity School <strong>and</strong> ministered to churches in Illinois<br />

<strong>and</strong> New Hampshire. He believes that it is critical for a professor to model the<br />

wedding of sound Bible study <strong>and</strong> exposition. He speaks for revivals, leads Bible<br />

studies <strong>and</strong> leadership seminars throughout the country, <strong>and</strong> serves as a consultant<br />

to a number of churches. He has participated in lectureships at Central <strong>Christian</strong><br />

College, Hope International <strong>University</strong>, Maritime <strong>Christian</strong> College, Great Lakes<br />

<strong>Christian</strong> College <strong>and</strong> many others. As an adjunct faculty member for TCM<br />

International since 1993, he has taught students from several Eastern European<br />

countries as well as in Vienna, Austria. Dr. Lowery has written for The <strong>Christian</strong><br />

St<strong>and</strong>ard, The St<strong>and</strong>ard Lesson Commentary, The Lookout, <strong>and</strong> The Stone-<br />

Campbell Journal. He has contributed chapters to several books <strong>and</strong> contributed<br />

the study notes on the Book of Revelation for Zondervan’s Quest Study Bible.<br />

His first book, Revelation’s Rhapsody: Listening to the Lyrics of the Lamb: How<br />

to Read the Book of Revelation, was published in 2006 by College Press (Joplin,<br />

MO) <strong>and</strong> Logos Research Systems (Bellingham, WA). He maintains a website<br />

to promote discussion of the book (www.rlowery.com). He is a member of the<br />

Evangelical Theological Society. Dr. Lowery has traveled to Europe, Greece,<br />

Turkey <strong>and</strong> Israel. He <strong>and</strong> his wife Marilyn have two children, Rachel <strong>and</strong> Brian <strong>and</strong><br />

two gr<strong>and</strong>daughters. He enjoys reading, listening to music, attending concerts <strong>and</strong><br />
