Frank Smith is <strong>Chamber</strong> Board Treasurer<br />
L<br />
ooking to get away<br />
from the rain, traffic<br />
jams, and the big city life,<br />
Frank moved from Seattle,<br />
Washington to <strong>Lander</strong> in<br />
July 2008. Born and raised<br />
in the small town <strong>of</strong> Castle<br />
Rock, Washington<br />
(population 2,024), he later<br />
attended Portland State<br />
University in Portland,<br />
Oregon where he received<br />
Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Science Degrees<br />
in both Business<br />
Administration and<br />
Accounting.<br />
Upon graduation, Frank’s<br />
first jobs were in public<br />
accounting where he<br />
specialized in the auditing <strong>of</strong><br />
small to mid-sized banks.<br />
Moving into banking in 1994,<br />
he first worked as a loan<br />
<strong>of</strong>ficer before assuming the<br />
role <strong>of</strong> Chief Financial Officer<br />
(CFO) for a small community<br />
bank.<br />
For the last 16 years,<br />
including his current<br />
position at Central Bank &<br />
Trust, he has worked as the<br />
CFO for banks in Oregon,<br />
Washington, and Wyoming<br />
ranging in size from two<br />
Page 8<br />
branches and $40 million in<br />
assets to seven branches and<br />
$325 million in assets.<br />
When not working, Frank<br />
enjoys fishing, backpacking,<br />
golfing and bowling. He also<br />
collects coins, military<br />
memorabilia, and sports<br />
cards.<br />
Frank serves on the <strong>Chamber</strong>’s<br />
Brewfest and Asset and<br />
Tourism Development Committees.<br />
He is proud to be a<br />
board member <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Lander</strong><br />
Area <strong>Chamber</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Commerce</strong><br />
since April 2009 and looks<br />
forward to serving the<br />
community that is now his<br />
new home.<br />
