STUDENT-ATHLETE HOUSING
The majority of Georgia State University student-athletes are housed in either the
University Lofts or the University Commons. Both facilities provide the student-athletes
a safe, comfortable place to call home during the academic year.
Most Georgia State student-athletes live in the Lofts, which opened in August 2002 and
is located on campus, just two blocks from the Georgia State Sports Arena, on Edgewood
Ave between Piedmont Avenue and Courtland Street. The fully-furnished, loft-style
apartments blend urban style with modern-day conveniences. Unit amenities include direct
internet access in each bedroom, basic cable television service, local telephone service,
private bedroom accommodations, key-locked bedroom doors, a refrigerator with ice
maker, stove, dishwasher and garbage disposal.
The Lofts also feature a laundry room, 24-hour computer lab and a meeting/community
room.
The Commons, a new 2000-bed student housing complex which opened in August
2007, is located at the intersection of Piedmont Avenue and Ellis Street, just a short walk
from campus. The four-building. state-of-the-art complex has apartment-style suites that
include wiring for computers, internet access and cable television. The buildings, which
are accessible only by electronic key cards and monitored 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week,
surround a beautiful courtyard and picnic area.

and 4-bed, 2-bath suites. Unit The University Lofts
amenities are similiar to the Lofts,
which include direct internet

Every floor in every building has a meeting/community room and
laundry facilities are located in each building.
Other options have been added to the Commons, including a health
clinic and a 24-hour restaurant. A multi-level parking garage is another
welcome addition to university student-athletes.
