Gender - A Health and Development Issue In many parts of the world, simply being a woman is a health risk. Gender has a crucial impact on a person‘s health. So does poverty. Worldwide, women have less access to health care, health information, and have little command over aspects of their own bodies. Gender inequality severely affects a person’s ability to realise his or her right to health.
