1981<br />
<strong>Banco</strong> Urquijo de Chile is formed, a subsidiary of<br />
<strong>Banco</strong> Urquijo, Spain.<br />
1987<br />
<strong>Security</strong> Pacific Corporation, a subsidiary of <strong>Security</strong><br />
Pacific National Bank, Los Angeles, California, buys<br />
100% of the shares of <strong>Banco</strong> Urquijo de Chile,<br />
which takes the name of <strong>Banco</strong> <strong>Security</strong> Pacific.<br />
<strong>Security</strong> Pacific National Bank creates a<br />
stockbroking firm which, four years later, is sold to<br />
<strong>Banco</strong> <strong>Security</strong> and becomes Valores <strong>Security</strong>,<br />
Corredores de Bolsa.<br />
1990<br />
Leasing <strong>Security</strong> is formed and is incorporated into<br />
<strong>Banco</strong> <strong>Security</strong> in April 2001.<br />
1991<br />
<strong>Security</strong> Pacific Overseas Corporation sells 64% of<br />
the bank to the current shareholders of Grupo<br />
<strong>Security</strong>, its name changing to <strong>Banco</strong> <strong>Security</strong>.<br />
Grupo <strong>Security</strong> is thus born.<br />
1992<br />
Administradora de Fondos Mutuos <strong>Security</strong> S.A. is<br />
formed as a subsidiary of <strong>Banco</strong> <strong>Security</strong> and<br />
Factoring <strong>Security</strong> as a subsidiary of Grupo <strong>Security</strong>.<br />
1993<br />
The subsidiary Asesorías <strong>Security</strong> is created,<br />
representing Dean Witter Reynolds & Co., United<br />
States, in Chile.<br />
1994<br />
Bank of America, the successor of <strong>Security</strong> Pacific<br />
National Bank, sells the remaining 40% of the bank<br />
to Grupo <strong>Security</strong>.<br />
1995<br />
Grupo <strong>Security</strong> lists its shares on the stock market and<br />
acquires a majority holding in AFP Protección and the<br />
insurance companies Previsión Vida and Previsión<br />
Generales.<br />
1996<br />
Grupo <strong>Security</strong> buys 29.35% of the insurance<br />
company Previsión Generales from Inversiones,<br />
Seguros y Pensiones Limitada and becomes the<br />
controller of 62.69% of the company. Merchant<br />
<strong>Security</strong> is incorporated into Inmobiliaria <strong>Security</strong>.<br />
1997<br />
Grupo <strong>Security</strong> makes a share split. In October, it<br />
makes a change of corporate image and<br />
incorporates the company Securitizadora <strong>Security</strong>, a<br />
subsidiary of Merchant <strong>Security</strong>, into Grupo <strong>Security</strong>.<br />
1998<br />
In March, Grupo <strong>Security</strong> sells its shareholding in<br />
AFP Protección. In December, the insurance<br />
companies Previsión Vida and Previsión Generales<br />
are transferred to the parent, Inversiones Seguros<br />
<strong>Security</strong> Limitada.<br />
1999<br />
Grupo <strong>Security</strong> acquires a majority interest in the<br />
travel agency Travel <strong>Security</strong>. Corredora de Seguros<br />
<strong>Security</strong> and Global <strong>Security</strong> are created.<br />
2001<br />
Two subsidiaries of Servicios <strong>Security</strong> S.A. are<br />
formed (a subsidiary in turn of Inversiones Seguros<br />
<strong>Security</strong> Limitada): Corredora de Reaseguros<br />
<strong>Security</strong> and Agencia <strong>Security</strong>. Virtual <strong>Security</strong> starts<br />
the provision of technological services for the<br />
companies of the conglomerate. The subsidiary<br />
Invest <strong>Security</strong> centralizes the corporate accounting,<br />
control and corporate cultural development services<br />
of the subsidiaries of the Group.<br />
2002<br />
Merchant <strong>Security</strong> absorbs the international asset<br />
management business from Asesorías <strong>Security</strong> and<br />
the international private banking business of <strong>Banco</strong><br />
<strong>Security</strong>, and adopts the name Asesorías <strong>Security</strong><br />
S.A. Inversiones Seguros <strong>Security</strong> Limitada achieves<br />
a 73.69% participation in Servicios <strong>Security</strong>, the<br />
parent of the companies dedicated to insurance<br />
broking. The insurance companies become known as<br />
Seguros Vida <strong>Security</strong> Previsión S.A. and Seguros<br />
<strong>Security</strong> Previsión.
