A chocolate adventure around the world with Davenport’s Chocolates Connoisseur Chocolate Tastings - Saturday May 10th 12noon, 2pm and 3pm in the Chef Demonstrations Marquee If you are a chocoholic you are in for another sweet treat at this year’s Tynemouth food festival as Davenport Chocolates once again run their series of ticket only chocolate tasting sessions taking place in the Chef Demonstrations Marquee on Saturday 10th May. The exclusive 40 minute talks were very popular last year so this year the sessions will be available for more people – a maximum of 50 at each talk. Davenport’s Chocolates is run by Jane Williams and specialises in handcrafted chocolates made using traditional techniques and the finest ingredients. The company, based in North Shields, has built a richly deserved reputation not just regionally but UK wide, for creatively made chocolates. These range from classic favourites in their Vintage Collection, to innovatively fresh and vibrant new recipes developed by Jane. Chocolatier Charlie Pears-Wallace will take you through a journey of tasting chocolate from around the world, as you test your noses and tastebuds on different cocoa beans and develop your pallete to distinguish between them. You will also have the chance to try chocolate pairings you may not have experienced before as you push the boundaries of flavour combinations (chocolate paired with the likes of sundried tomatoes, fresh rosemary, black olives; what will you think?) as well as taste some of Davenport's well loved favourites, such as the Cinnamon Toffee Apple or the Raspberry & Rose Truffle. Tickets cost £5 per person and are available to buy from Tynemouth’s Deli Around the Corner or on the day, subject to availability, from the Tynemouth <strong>Food</strong> <strong>Festival</strong> stand..
