INSTITUTE OF ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS - Annual Report 2005
on the molecular biology technique. In the area
of artificial intelligence it is expected to elaborate
a uniform view on these techniques, based on the
idea of searching process as an underlying
mechanism. In the area of molecular biology it is
expected to elaborate a nonstandard connections
of the DNA strands and to use them to implement
the graph structures. Participants: Jaroslaw
Arabas Ph.D., Pawel Cichosz Ph.D., Robert
Nowak Ph.D., Piotr Wasiewicz Ph.D., P.
Kiersnowski and G. Tomczuk – Ph.D Students.
[Pro.32] Jan Ogrodzki Professor – Head of the
project: Computer Modeling of Electronic
Systems and Microsystems, (in Polish –
Komputerowe modelowanie systemów i
mikrosystemów elektronicznych). The group
works on methods, algorithms and programs of
computer modeling, simulation and design of
electronic circuits and electro-chemical, electromechanical
microsystems. In this area the
following problems are studied: a) modeling of
CHEMFET sensors and data fusion algorithms,
b) development of optimization methods making
use of the limited accuracy simulation, c)
development of the digital circuits simulation
algorithms, d) modeling and mixed-mode
analysis in Matlab environment and using
VHDL-AMS, d) verification of a certain
algorithm for switch-mode circuits analysis in
Matlab environment. Participants: Leszek
Opalski D.Sc., Krzysztof Zamlynski Ph.D.,
Marian Bukowski Ph.D.
[Pro.33] Grzegorz Pankanin Ph.D. – Head of the
project (in Polish – Badania pola elektrycznego
atmosfery).
[Pro.34] Tomasz Starecki Ph.D. – Head of the
project: Research on Improvement of some
Components of Photoacoustic instruments (in
Polish – Badania nad mozliwoscia poprawy
parametrów wybranych elementów przyrzadów
fotoakustycznych). The research on improvement
of some components of photoacoustic
instruments were conducted in a few main areas,
out of which the most important were: analysis of
possible improvement of photoacoustic signal
preamplifier (in particular – lowering the noise
figure of the circuit), analysis of possible
improvement of photoacoustic cell design,
temperature compensation of fast sampling
circuits. Participants: Katarzyna Opalska Ph.D.,
Aleksander Burd Ph.D., Marcin Grajda M.Sc.,
Stefan Misiaszek Ph.D., Michal Ramotowski
M.Sc., Maciej Radtke M.Sc., Tomasz Borowski
M.Sc.
[Pro.35] Jerzy Szabatin Professor – Head of the
project (in Polish – Zastosowanie metod
adaptacyjnych do przetwarzania sygnalów w
bezprzewodowych
systemach
radiokomunikacyjnych).
[Pro.36] Edward Sliwa Ph.D. – Head of the project
Upgrade of Local Area Network in the Institute
of Electronic Systems, (in Polish – Modernizacja
infrastruktury informatycznej Instytutu
Systemów Elektronicznych).
[Pro.37] Andrzej Wojtkiewicz Professor – Head of
the project (in Polish – Opracowanie
efektywnych metod i algorytmów tworzenia
obrazów parametrów obiektów wykrywanych
przez radar FMCW).
No 4 T11E 023 24: Investigation of Mechanisms
of Otoacoustic TEOAE Generation Based on
New Methods of Time-frequency Decomposition
of Signal Emission, May 2003- May 2005, (in
Polish - Badania mechanizmów generacji
otoakustycznej TEOAE w oparciu o nowa
metodyke dekompozycji skladowych czasowoczestotliwosciowych
emisji sygnalu);
participants: Lech Sliwa Ph.D., Wojciech
Zabolotny Ph.D., Wojciech Zaworski M.Sc.,
Witold Wierzejski Ph.D., Piotr Lapinski Ph.D.
Student. The goal of the project is to investigate
fundamentals of hearing responsible for emission
of spontaneous as well as evoked otoacoustic
emission. New methodology of signal processing
is developed based on time-frequency
decomposition and filtering. The research
hypothesis says that various generators generate
observed signal and particular components have
different clinical value. Thus TEOAE
decomposition aims in improvement of
sensitivity and specificity of hearing assessment.
[Pro.39] Professor Ryszard Jachowicz – Head of the
project for FP5 European Project „Centre of
Microsystems Design and Technology –
COMBAT”, January 2003 – December 2005, (in
Polish - Centrum Doskonalosci Mikrosystemów
–Projektowanie i Technologia). The project is
realised with co-operation of 7 research groups
conducted by: Professor Z. Brzózka (Faculty of
Chemistry), Professor M. Kujawinska (Faculty of
