INTEGRATED WATER RESOURCE MANAGEMENT (IWRM) -
NADI RIVER BASIN
Project Components :
• Rainfall – the establishment of hydro‐meteorological networks to develop better
prediction tools of when and where an intense rain flood will occur
• Runoff – the analysis of rainfall and surface run off to develop rainfall‐runoff models
to give predictions of the main flood flow contributing areas in the catchment
• River network and flood plains – analysis of a range of natural and human influenced
factors that affect or control the ability of the channel and flood plains to convey flood
flows.
• River water health – different flood management measures have varying impacts on
the ecosystem and at the same time changes in the ecosystem have consequential
impacts on the flood situation and river behaviour.

• Coastal Health – coastal waters are heavily impacted by flood generated Flood sediments Risk
with implications for ecosystems, coastal biodiversity and the tourism industry. Management
